Also worth remembering: if we're talking about 1% of women in the UK - the entire population of trans people is less than 1% and their small number is not regarded as rendering them as a population too small to recognise or provide for. And rightly so.

So even 1% of women can be no less important to recognise and provide for - and I suspect in fact it's a good deal higher percentage than that.
This thread may be of interest to many of you, it's not obviously from the title

Women's Manifesto www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/4192960-Womens-Manifesto
Oh no. I did not get to see it. It’s deleted.

MichelleofzeResistance · 15/03/2021 18:32

It's all right, there's another one. For some reason we're having the same discussion on two threads, I dont understand why.
Here's a short film in which you can see for yourself how distressed cis girls are about sharing spaces with a trans girl:
We have seen for ourselves, thank you. More than seen for ourselves. 'Women and girls' aren't an abstract concept for us that we're speaking over. We are women and we were girls and we are speaking for ourselves and we are saying no. Please respect that.
ErrolTheDragon · 15/03/2021 19:01

I put this on the other thread but perhaps more relevant here. Girls are not all happy to have their rights eroded without even being asked. I think this girl, and many others like her, would be very glad to see the women's rights stickers.

There's also this video of a girl swimmer in tears because she's lost the right to get undressed in privacy. It seems that for some people, a girl's opinion only counts when she says yes.

Yes.

There is a young, disabled 14 year old - Miss B - taking on the College of Policing.

A brave teenager who is challenging the College of Policing’s Guidance on Hate Crime.

Have a look at allotment. Perhaps some of us here can help her with digging and seeds and borders Daffodil

PurpleHoodie · 16/03/2021 09:03

It would be great to get her JUSTICE.

334bu · 16/03/2021 09:18

How about justice for these women, especially the one at the back denied her place on the podium.

Yes.

In all womens sporting fixtures, there are going to have to be two winners lists.

The cheats charter one that the Associations put out - including the Olympics.

And the real one that women and men can support and celebrate - including the Olympics.

I thought now would be a good time for some more stickers.

So the video you linked shows how accepted the trans girl is and how everyone is so happy and relaxed to share their spaces with them.

Yet you also said that you feel for the trans child walking to school who is about "face another day of bullying" by her peers due to not being accepted.

So which narrative is it?

A highlight of that video is also that the effect of others is completely and arrogantly ignored. The sentences ‘well maybe some younger girls had issues. But what could they do about it? Nothing!’ Pretty much says it all.

So they are terrified over people leaving a polite political message? (I guess minor lowest level vandalism.)

But of course women just have to put up with death and rape threats from some of the trans-rights side.

In the much awaited sequel to the Mysterious Incident of Greyfriars Bobby the Dog in the Night-time, Kirkcaldy Police are very upset about some stickers.

On Monday 17th May we received a report of controversial stickers having been placed on lampposts within the Viewforth Avenue area of Kirkcaldy.

Should you come across stickers of this nature, please contact ourselves or @FifeCouncil so that their removal can be arranged.

And an MP wants to help as well.

Dearie me. I wonder if he'll be trusted with the highly confidential information of what to look out for in Kirkcaldy.

Artichokeleaves · 22/05/2021 18:34

I wonder if the good people of Kirkcaldy will be slightly pissed off that police time is being prioritised for this. Around here if you ring up the police and say a burglary is in progress you'll get at best, a crime number.

I could, ever so slightly cynically, reflect that the political lobby driving this has been known in some manifestos (action for trans health comes to mind) to suggest getting rid of the police service altogether. This is certainly a very good way to get public opinion turned in a helpful direction to that end.

In my town, political stickers are very common. I've seen loads about Brexit, the Gaza conflict, the environment, Black Lives Matter, and pro self ID. I've also seen a few that are gender critical. Why are some political stickers acceptable and others are not? It's absurd to think that stating 'a woman doesn't have a willy' is hate speech!

birthing person of god
Birthing person (non-birthing parents and indeed non-parents equally valid) of non-specific deity (polytheism and atheism equally valid) surely? Wink
