Apologies if this has been shared but I emailed regarding the government consultation on toilet provision and thought ot was worth mentioning here. Lots of reference to gender neutral facilities, although I did call them mixed sex in my email

A timely reminder OP, just over two weeks to go so worth looking at now.

I mentioned elsewhere but the latest hooha being generated by Stonewall is that apparently butch lesbians get grief in the ladies toilets and it is all the fault of us nasty women trying to keep our facilities single sex.

There has been some encouragement of the activists on twitter to respond to this consultation and tell all the terrible stories of butch lesbians getting shouted at (apparently during lockdown ) to 'balance out' the responses so if anyone hasn't quite got around to explaining why single sex spaces are helpful to women yet, now is a good time to do it.

I feel sorry for the people who need to analyse the emails (as long as they are not the type to ditch all the responses from people whose pov they don't agree with).

Haha only when it suits them and can be used as a stick to beat us uppity women.

Public toilets have been closed for so much of the pandemic in the last year yet apparently women have been seeking out butch lesbians in public toilets to challenge them?? Really??
Methinks Stonewall are (yet again) being economical with the truth.

Do Stonewall think we are stupid?

No. They think we are the ciphers of their own imagining. They think they can entirely predict and explain what we think and why, because their conception of us is entirely based on their own prejudices and not reality. Anything we actually do say and think is ignored because they have already made up their minds. Reality is seen only through a lens.

Its not hard to sue the Advanced Search function to see if there are existing threads and others have said that in fact google brings up better results eg mumsnet talk feminism toilets
