I'm sick of the daytime chat shows giving trans ideology a free uncritical pass and now Eddy Izzard has 'come out' as a woman he has become an advocate of the junkscience bullshit:

Thank you for being so supportive it's great that your there says Eddy emotionally. They both get emosh and there are nearly tears (because they are both women!) but I felt that underlying it Lorraine was uncomfortable in this whole performance.

And Lorraine laughs her tinkly laugh about the fact that Izzard claims to have been 'out' for 35 years and people still don't get that they're trans. Hahaha - aren't people daft? The fact is we ALL know that what Izzard was 'out' as was a male transvestite, self-described. 'They're not women's clothes, they're mine.'

'What does it matter,' simpers the mega-wealthy TV personality who has no fear of finding herself in a women's refuge, prison, mixed sex hospital ward or municipal swimming pool changing room. I think the ovary testicles things makes sense but was explained clumsily to try to fit an agenda.

Testes and ovaries do both develop from the gonads and the "coding" aka genes determine whether they become testes or ovaries, in simplistic terms. But im not sure that proves anything other than sex isnt "assigned at birth" it happens in the womb and is fairly incontrovertible and doesnt come with a built in boy mode girl mode switch that you can flick either way according to your mood

The part about genes and trans is interesting. They have found genes responsible for maintaining ovaries as ovaries/testes e.g. if they turn off a gene then ovaries can become testes and produce testosyerone (but not sperm) in mice. Therefore surely if there is a gene for trans the body would already be producing sex changing infertile f2m people without the need for drugs?

Some people use the fact that this gene may be responsible for the sex/gender changing properties of some fish etc to justify saying that sex/gender is fluid in humans whilst ignoring the fact that this gene doesnt fuction that way in humans so is irrelevant to the argument

(I have used sex/gender because people use this science to justify a biological proof of gender change e.g. they talk about gender. But im not convinced someones ovaries becoming testes would be an indication of whether they could look coyly at a camera and switch jnto 'girl mode'z)

Because women with big boobs would gladly take them off for the run. Sweat rash, chaffing, bad back, bad posture .... the list goes on..

Sports/running bras for bigger boobed women that actually work without creating one monoboob are really hard to find.

If they are fake it makes me think he is actually getting off the movement them whilst running.

Never in my life thought I’d ever hear myself say this, but it would be interesting to see how Piers Morgan would interview Eddie on this issue. He’d surely pin Eddie down a bit more for the sake of clarity if nothing else.

Why would it matter? Because isn't it just lovely to be able to switch from "girl mode" to "boy mode" when "girl mode" proves a little bit inconvenient? I'll believe in any person's sexual identity when they embrace ALL aspects of that identity: the good and the bad.

I'm currently reading a (horrifically eye-opening and distressing) book about rape as a weapon of war. Thus far, it seems to be about biological men raping biological women. This is why all the bullshit about "feeling like a girl" and "girl mode" makes me angry. Read this book: this is the lived reality of what it means to be female. Not twatting around with lipstick and pony tails and high heels, and being able to switch back to "boy mode" (the dramatic roles??) when shit gets real.

I think it would be great if there was a genetic test for transgender. Firstly it would be a huge scientific breakthrough and a major event in genetic history to explain the sudden genetic shift that happened at the beginning of the 21st century accounting for the huge explosion in teenage girls identifying as trans in the last 5 years or so. Never in human history has such a swift genetic evolutionary change happened, so some investigation and breakthrough on that would be truly extraordinary. If only someone would take it upon themselves to investigate why so many teenage girls are now identifying as trans, perhaps we might get some genetic research out of it, but alas, no one seems interested at any of the gender clinics worldwide. Maybe Eddie could fund this by running marathons?

Second, it would clarify the exact nature of who is trans and who isn’t in terms of middle-aged males, which I’m sure trans activists would agree is something they can all get behind, because then no one would have to even bother with self ID, just have the test!

So I’m with Eddie on this one. Although I can’t see a mad rush of a queue forming if it becomes available...
