They’ve done it again. I thought I was just a vulva-person but it turns out I am also a vagina-owner!

At least I can refuse to pay for it,

NiceGerbil · 30/11/2020 19:57

It's free online :/

DrDavidBanner · 30/11/2020 20:15

Have had time to read all the links now and its even worse than I thought. Two thoughts;

Why does a teenager or pre-teen for that matter need an adult to teach them how to masturbate? Sick fuckers.

Whay is that stuid tiktocker lumping using a dildo in with being choked and spat at? Another sick fucker.

thinkingaboutLangCleg · 30/11/2020 20:33

At last I understand what "sex assigned at birth" means! You get either a papaya or a banana stuck on. The assigners used to do a papaya with a little sort of berry near the top, but the vulva people had too much fun with it so I think it's been discontinued. If you've got one, you're not meant to use it any more because it could be triggering to someone.

jakeyboy1 · 30/11/2020 22:26

She got quite a pasting on Twitter for that stupid video - good.
I think to some degree there has always been articles like this (More - position of the fortnight anyone?!) but the normalising of anal to such young girls is horrifying - don't recall ever seeing that in More.

Winesalot · 30/11/2020 22:50

Isn’t that tiktokker the teen vogue writer?

Either way the replies seem unanimous in the vein of ‘stop telling girls that abusive sex acts such as spitting and violence such as choking is ok.’ Also lots of stop telling our girls that they should be doing anal.

I’d be very ashamed if I were that person for their approach to teen sex articles. If even one girl was hurt in any way, that mag should be sued for portraying these acts as normal.

PotholeParadies · 30/11/2020 22:53

Yep, same person, Winesalot.

Amazingly responsible person who should definitely be trusted to write for a young audience, no doubt about that.

PotholeParadies · 30/11/2020 23:41

Did everyone else already know this?

At the absolute most generous estimate, in Teen Vogue's digital audience — the only audience they still have after they shelved their print edition with a final copy featuring Hillary Clinton on the cover — 1 in 20 readers is an actual teenager.

Do Teen Vogue writers lnow this?

NiceGerbil · 01/12/2020 00:14

So who is their audience?

FamilyOfAliens · 01/12/2020 00:14

Good grief, what is "temperature play" in the first place?

Doing it in the airing cupboard?

I think it’s if you touch the thermostat you won’t be having sex again.

NiceGerbil · 01/12/2020 00:26

Read the Washington examiner link.

I would guess that the readership is, then. Male people who find it exciting to sort of. Read things that are written (apparently) for girls 13+ which is not what they (males) should be reading. So that's subversive. And wow. What those girls like reading and doing is... Strangely disconnected from reality. It's all. Butt plugs and anal and etc etc. I did scroll though looking for the bit the op linked and there was a lot of. I've never done xyz before, how do I do it?

Ok so.

Teen Vogue is not written for teen girls at all.
The publishers and writers know that.
It's a new sort of readers wives crossover with sugar and spice.

I don't think that seems unfair?

The fact that plenty of actual children will come across it and not realise it's a wank site for blokes is, as with the rest of the internet. Irrelevant.

NiceGerbil · 01/12/2020 00:28

I mean that's the natural conclusion I think?

Let me know if you think I've gone wonky anywhere.

NiceGerbil · 01/12/2020 00:32

What relationship do teen Vogue have with vogue?

What is teen Vogue mission statement etc? Stated readership segment?

Do they need to adhere to any standards etc (guessing not as not news journalism).

And why is all their sex stuff under a main topic called 'identities'?

NiceGerbil · 01/12/2020 00:34

Wiki says

'Teen Vogue is an American online publication, formerly in print, launched in 2003, as a sister publication to Vogue, targeted at preteen girls. Like Vogue, it included stories about fashion and celebrities'.

Pre-teen target audience????!!!

PotholeParadies · 01/12/2020 00:54

I don't know how reliable statistical information gathering on websites is, or how much it could be thrown off by a clickbait article going viral. So bear that in mind.

However, I think I have said before that the anal sex article didn't feel like a neutral article that sought to inform teenage readership.

It read like a boyfriend trying to persuade you to give something a go, you don't know you don't like it. Was it actually written so that men could email the link to young women?

Defaultname · 01/12/2020 00:59

The general rule for magazines such as 'Jackie' and '17' seemed to be that they'd have lots of younger girs reading them in an anticipatory way.
I wonder how many wedding mags are read by unengaged girls/women?

NotBadConsidering · 01/12/2020 01:11

Anyone who wants to spit on someone or choke someone as part of sex should be shamed, quite frankly, and I don’t give a shiny shit what some pathetic woke sex writer with her stupid Tik Tok videos thinks of that. The last thing it should be is championed as “the norm” for children. SHE should be ashamed.

The idea that shameful kinks should be accepted by everyone in public is just bullshit, and has led to such occurrences as kids playing freely among adults engaging in pup play at Pride.

Keep your kinks private FFS, and don’t make the rest of us join in.

Tannins · 01/12/2020 05:23

Do I want to know what a unicorn baby is?

TreestumpsAndTrampolines · 01/12/2020 06:29

That video is horrific. Don't shame people for choking or spitting on their partner...

Anyone who wants to spit on someone or choke someone as part of sex should be shamed, quite frankly

Exactly this. It is fucking abhorrent, shameful behaviour.

FannyCann · 01/12/2020 06:59

It read like a boyfriend trying to persuade you to give something a go, you don't know you don't like it. Was it actually written so that men could email the link to young women?

Very astute.

I've reported the Gigi woman on twitter. Much good it will do.

TriflePudding · 01/12/2020 07:17

NotBadConsidering

You are absolutely spot on, when did ‘establishing sexual boundaries’ become kink shaming and who does it benefit? Certainly not women and children.

Winesalot · 01/12/2020 07:20

Urrrghhh! Only 1 in 20 are a teenager. That also means a good portion could still be preteen.... the thought horrifies me. Of course, it could be that it is a much older audience that wishes they were teenaged girls. Still the wish to educate girls about normalising abusive sex habits seems to be an agenda commonly popping up. In fact, wishing schools to play down the risk of harm with certain sex acts has been mentioned on a thread on this very board this week by a male who has no experience as a female of any age and it shows every single time they post.

There is no doubt in my mind which sex benefits from lowering children’s sexual boundaries. It never seems to be females that benefit. You just have to listen to the experience of detransitioners like Benji (GNCentric) when they discuss some of the trans youth groups and what happens for the connections to click into place.

SophocIestheFox · 01/12/2020 07:46

I am very much in favour of shaming people who encourage pre teen and teenage girls to think that choking and spitting are normal and fun sex acts. They’re getting my best middle aged woman’s stink eye.
