Looks like they're gunning for gay men now. Anything other than complete agreement is no good.

Readers here will be used to this sort of insanity:

I wonder if it will wake up those who have not seen it before?

I haven't got any underlying attitudes about other peoples sex lives, whatever sexuality they are.
I have got a problem with my child being shown age inappropriate materials about other peoples sex lives.

WaveWalker · 29/11/2020 13:24

At sixteen, my first gf and I went to sh! In London to educate ourselves about toys etc. We didn't have porn passed around our female friendship groups. We knew about it from diva magazine. The shop only allowed men in if accompanied by a responsible woman.

We both went to all girls schools, so might have missed out on being surrounded by the male version of teenage girlhood presented.

jj1968 · 29/11/2020 13:29

@Ereshkigalangcleg

which as this thread demonstrates has a pretty hostile view towards LGB inclusive RSE.

No, it doesn't demonstrate this. It demonstrates that on a mostly female parenting site, women care about child safeguarding. What you assert sounds like a broad sweeping negative generalisation of a larger group, which is against Mumsnet talk guidelines.

There is little else other than sweeping generalisations about all trans people on some of the threads on here. I don't think it's unreasonable to observe that from what I can see the GC movement on the whole seems pretty hostile to LGB inclusive RSE.
WaveWalker · 29/11/2020 13:31

One thing we believed though, was than anal was for mens pleasure, and we didn't have to try it out between ourselves.

If only we had had jj style education - we could have spent ages working out that it is painful, uncomfortable and carries more physical risks to women than vaginal sex - I tried it out in my twenties, in case you need lived experience not theory. I feel failed by sex ed that I didn't come to that conclusion at sixteen because sex ed didn't pressure me into seeing it as a default part of having sex as a female.

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 29/11/2020 13:32

And nowadays, men will have free rein in there because who’s going to risk misgendering then?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 29/11/2020 13:34

No, they are hostile to attempts to inappropriately sexualise any children. Many GC women are lesbians. Stop insinuating that people are homophobic because they don't subscribe to queer theory.

And posters have been deleted many times for "sweeping negative generalisations" about transactivists. The rules apply to you too, jj.

Datun · 29/11/2020 13:35

True though. Just look the response to Boyz if you want an example

As you've been told, repeatedly, the materials that LGBA were talking about were those that undermine safeguarding and go against DofE guidelines.

You admit you don't even know what materials are under discussion. You try to talk about a magazine, the readers of which you can't even define.

And then want to include as many people in that cohort as possible - to back up your argument?

Knock yourself out. 🤣

7Days · 29/11/2020 13:35

Lol jj you're wild with assumptions and very light on information.

Is this what passes for trans advocacy?

WaveWalker · 29/11/2020 13:35

@EmpressWitchDoesntBurn indeed. I think they are full on TWAW and men are lesbians these days.

midgebabe · 29/11/2020 13:36

Jj please report all, generalisations about transpeople, as that is not tolerated on this site.

PotholeParadies · 29/11/2020 13:37

No, jj. Your posts are revealing of your phallocentric attitude towards women's sexuality, and illustrative of exactly why there is a Get the L Out movement.

Datun · 29/11/2020 13:38

'Fraid so.

Hence #NoDebate.

Men's attitude in general to lesbians is always so revealing. Sex without a penis appears particularly hard to compute.

"But what do they do?"

PotholeParadies · 29/11/2020 13:43

It's okay, jj is here to make up the deprivations of your girlhood and mansplain to you that in fact many lesbians enjoy pegging, and that it's "predominately" done by lesbians.

I'm pretty sure that's what's coming next.

PotholeParadies · 29/11/2020 13:45

Mispelling of predominantly mine, not jj's.

SophocIestheFox · 29/11/2020 13:46

Silly Datun, it’s all very clearly explained in lesbian porn for men, which we should be showing in RSE, as long as it’s inclusive lesbian porn.

Or summat. I’m a bit lost now, I’ve clutched my pearls so hard I’ve cut off the oxygen to my brain.

jj1968 · 29/11/2020 13:53

Your innocence and naivity about the wide diversity of LGBT sexualities is telling @Datun

As someone with no desire whatsoever to use my penis to have sex with its actually pretty easy to compute given I still manage to have sexual relationships.

christinarossetti19 · 29/11/2020 13:58

jj1968 I might be in a minority here, but I honestly don't want to hear about your sex life.

I can't see how it's relevant to this thread, other than your posts demonstrating the criticisms made against you about your phallicentric focus and that somehow believing that talking about what you do or don't do with your penis adds more to the discussion than actually reading the free and accessible RSE materials that you have such strong views about.

Well perhaps if people laid off the personal attacks people wouldn't feel the need to defend themselves.

Grin

Reminds me of this:

CoffeeTeaChocolate · 29/11/2020 14:01

I find it sinister that certain people seems to intent of targeting children with inappropriate materials based on a combination of inclusive platitudes, projection of their own childhoods and an apparent inability to search for information and process the answers given. And the complete lack of understanding of safeguarding principles.

I really fear for the children in this.

As a side note, I am constantly wondering whether some comments have an underlying sinister motive or whether they are just ill informed and badly thought through. On any other topic, (for obvious reasons I keep discussion with my children age appropriate) I expect more coherent arguments from my 10-year old. I would let my 7-year old get away with the incoherent arguments, but not with the lack of listening to answers when they are given.

christinarossetti19 · 29/11/2020 14:01

Do report personal attacks jj1968. MNHQ will delete them promptly as they're against guidelines.

christinarossetti19 · 29/11/2020 14:05

CoffeeTeaChocolate yes I know what you mean.

There was something a bit Orwellian about being told over and over again that no-one was supporting information about same sex relationships in school when there was post after post explaining that it was taught and that people were supportive of that.

Ha, that video is followed by a ted talk called 'how not to take things personally'
