Don't know if this was already posted but it's a glimmer of hope that soe judges have their heads screwed on tightly.

Biological woman gives birth - hold the front page.

A great decision, and the right one, from the judge. If I was a wee bit more cynical I would say the whole thing was a giant publicity stunt, which is awful for that innocent baby. As others have said, who puts so much time and energy into living as their 'chosen' gender, then gets pregnant only weeks after getting legal recognition. It's literally the most female thing imaginable. How does that work with their body dysmorphia, seeing your female body growing a living baby inside it, your breasts growing, feeling a baby kick in your uterus, then finally pushing it out of your vagina and feeding it with your engorged breasts? How and why would someone who believes themselves to be intrinsically male, reconcile this?
It seems like the pregnancy was initiated to prove a point, and if that is the case, its awfully sad.
NONE of this is about that baby, it's ALL about the selfishness of this person.

@Gncq he can't actually he's tried to access them and been turned away, that's the problem. he tried complaining to no avail.

Freddie, on the very slim chance you see this, there's something you need to know. It'll be a shocker, so brace yourself

The words "gestational parent" and "mother" are...

SYNONYMS

They're. Fucking. Synonyms.

bangs head against wall

Oh hell.

This is the flip-side of those fricking gender policies, isn't it? They don't use their right to provide a single-sex service, and focus on gender identity. So women can access sexual assault services, transwomen can access sexual assault services, but transmen... can't.

Bloody hell. This is horrendous.

Why are they making a huge deal of not being a woman whilst trying to access rape crisis services? It seems counter intuitive.

On a feminism point of view. Because he identifies as male he hasn't been able to access support locally about the assault. Any advice ?

That's really dreadful. I'm sorry your poor friend didn't receive support from rape crisis. I'm sorrier still that he was in the position of needing their services in the first place.

There is a charity called Support Line specifically geared toward victims who are isolated, vulnerable or at risk and which claims to support all victims of rape and sexual assault.

I hope he finds the help he needs to process the effects of this horrible crime. Having also been a victim I send him solidarity and understanding.

The family courts are unbelievably 'woke'. So, I would imagine, is the ECHR.
Can't see the ecthr as the forum that paves the way for motherless children - it would be disastrous for the court and the coe (coe's Catholic countries are unlikely to embrace the notion of 'Holy Mary parent 1 of God')

No sympathy with Freddy, no agreement.

😆 at ‘parent 1 of God’

Oh holy Parent 2 who art in Heaven

WhataFarce76 · 16/11/2020 20:56

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among CENSORED and blessed is the fruit of thy gestational organ, Jesus. Holy Mary, PARENT 1 of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of death. Glory Be to PARENT 2, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.

Re. the redacted rosary. I'm fucking crying!, and my sides hurt.

Ali85 · 16/11/2020 21:07

There is already a case v. similar to this from Germany that is pending before the ECtHR. It's mentioned in the Court of Appeal judgment in the McConnell case at para 73-78 www.bailii.org/ew/cases/EWCA/Civ/2020/559.html Sounds like very similar case and court decision to McConnell.

RealityNotEssentialism · 16/11/2020 21:09

Not sure I like the binary nature of the word ‘son’ there WhatAFarce76. I think something like ‘child assigned male at birth’ or maybe ‘non-binary offspring’ might help folx feel safer than the current wording does.

OhHolyJesus · 16/11/2020 22:17

Just going to my ante-natal classes and popping my folic acid tabs. As a man.

In the Seahorse documentary Freddy explained that it was necessary for Freddy to remove the word 'pregnant' (or was it 'women'?) from the folic acid tablets Freddy was taking.

It might be worth watching that again now, given the context and the next IVF round that is underway.

TyroTerf · 16/11/2020 22:26

Makes sense. Word associations are quite a key factor in dysphoria, after all.

DeaconBoo · 16/11/2020 22:26

I suggest Parent A and Parent 1.
Inclusive and clear!

Yikes I missed the bit where Freddy is trying to get pregnant again. Lordy.
Blueberries0112 · 16/11/2020 22:46

They can always call it this way:
Egg/Mtdna carrier:

Sperm/Y-DNA carrier:

But it's still a mother and father

Hoowhoowho · 16/11/2020 23:06

I think there’s an argument to change birth certificates to reflect reproductive technology.
Children deserve to know
A. Who provided the egg and the sperm that created them
B. Which women birthed them (the mother!)

At the moment a child can be born from embryo donation and their birth certificate does not reflect their genetic heritage at all.

OhHolyJesus · 16/11/2020 23:07

Dodgy screen shorting sorry, hope you can see.

It's now the child's identity not Freddy's.

This was posted last week. Following the Seahorse documentary Freddy continues to live in the public domain.
