Yeah, I’ve never liked baboons. Too many teeth.

I'll get a man in to lay the patio now Rufus. Think the badger will be quite happy snuffling under the dahlias meanwhile. I believe they are partial to well-stocked borders.

Talking of which, have you noticed that Gardeners' World seems to be convinced that a picture of Monty Don on the front cover is all it takes for us lot to succumb? Gurning amiably from a top shelf near you.

Just popping by to show off my Line of Duty slightly feminist mash up of a new name.

Also to share a story with badger and feminism elements. One evening walking in the woods with DH when it started to get dark, I noticed he was holding the dog leads in a purposeful way.

“What are you afraid of?” I asked.
“Badgers,” he replied, “Aren’t you?”
“No. Out in a dark wood, I’m afraid of men,” I said.

DH was sort of surprised (not sure why). I was taken aback by the thought of a life where badgers were up there as top scary thing.

The flurry of phoenixes should be arriving shortly

We have badgers in the garden - last year one dug out a bees nest in the lawn by a wall. Big mess. Poor bees.

Well I popped in for my first ever Bluestocking breakfast. In a hotel, which is a lovely place to be right now.

I misread a post a couple of pages back where someone was craving the very odd combination of a bacon sandwich with gravy. On closer inspection it turned out it was granary instead of gravy.

I love gravy.

Mini croissant anyone?

Mmmmm ... hotel breakfasts. I remember a particularly stunning breakfast in a Norwegian hotel which heavily featured salmon. But that was back in The Before Days.

Yum, hotel breakfasts! I want a proper German hotel breakfast with all the cheeses and the breakfast cake now! Failing that, I want a big bowl of the best porridge in the world, which I can tell you after extensive research over the years, is served at Gleneagles.

Back for another full English and half an hour on the treadmill. Hope that badger is enjoying the treats.
