Facemasks on for a trip to the Bluestocking

CaraDuneRedux · 20/10/2020 20:33

We haven't had a Bluestocking thread for fucking ages.

Anyone fancy a socially distanced, tables of no more than 6, Bluestocking?

The goat has been covid tested and the patriarchy busting canon polished up to remove all possible virus traces from its surface.

Remember, MN spans the globe, and it's always before the 10pm curfew somewhere.

It’s bloody cold in the pub garden. I’ll warm myself with a drink to absent friends and glare at the annoying incomers.

I seem to have developed a very bad habit of sticking my tongue out behind my mask. I must not continue this once maskless life resumes. Even at people who deserve it.

StrangeLookingParasite · 12/04/2021 22:29

Well those recent losses suck greatly.

I'll have a big cup of coffee, as I'm no longer able to drink (disgusted face).

JoodyBlue · 12/04/2021 23:01

Sorry to hear about these goings on. It is horrible.

cinnamonroll1 · 13/04/2021 09:34

@ArabellaScott

Is that the one you get shortly after a Molotov Cocktail, cinnamon? My civil disobedience skills are rusty.
Indeed, that's the one.

Apologies, I seem to have fallen asleep in my Flaming Lamborghini and singed my eyebrows. Ho hum. Perhaps an espresso martini might be in order.

Sorry to hear about recent losses .

Were they found guilty of wrongthink?

ArabellaScott · 13/04/2021 09:51

Yes, I believe gardenbird was here in spirit last night and raised a glass back to you all, ladies. Maybe next time we can do some kind of seance via a medium.

How do you make a ouija board?

Take away his Buckfast.

Maybe works better spoken out loud ...

DaisiesandButtercups · 13/04/2021 10:00

Hush don’t ask where they have gone or why cinnamonroll1

Whispers, the pub tables have ears

Plain honest speaking carries a high risk in these parts.

Look see there’s an otter playing in the river!

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2021 10:17

Brewcoffee! We're stocked up from an excellent roaster whose house blends include Stereotype and Archetype, but we prefer Prototype or a selection of single origin beans.

(Looking forward to going there irl before too long, it's a lovely old fashioned shop thecoffeehopper.com )

cinnamonroll1 · 13/04/2021 10:18

Ah, I understand daises. Apologies.

The otter is very cute. Double plus good.

EmbarrassingAdmissions · 13/04/2021 10:20

Please. I'm desperate, I'm on a brief break from an all day meeting and my back is aching already (I spend too much of my day on these things).

I like the tins in the background - it makes me pine for the smell of a Bewley's in years gone past when you could smell the coffee from streets away.

ErrolTheDragon · 13/04/2021 10:25

Brew and sympathy.
I used to get dreadful neck and upper back pain if I sat concentrating too long, and particularly if I wasn't looking at the screen square on. My Pilates instructor taught me the magic tennis balls trick, which I was sceptical about but I found astonishingly effective. I think this link describes the idea.

QuentinWinters · 13/04/2021 10:28

This is a local pub for local people!
It's strange here, a mix of hot sunshine and cold air, so I'm not sure of the best drink to order. I feel like a coffee and a bit of cake

So soothing for the soul Errol.

I'm out for a coffee myself soon. With a real person. Can we take bets on how long I last before I mention something from this board?

QuentinWinters · 13/04/2021 10:30

Now I've just seen about cara Shock SadSadSad

PurpleWh1teGreen · 13/04/2021 11:17

FFS! The pettiest silencing ever.

highame · 13/04/2021 11:42

This is all pretty sad. Someones are really working their socks off to shut us down. I'm hoping a bit of a free speech win in the courts might make a difference, or would this be irrelevant.

Anyone up for starting another Bunbury thread? I'm happy to but it will be cut and paste opening salvo from previous threads

highame · 13/04/2021 11:43

Forgot to order a drink Blush. I think I might have a Bloody Mary

PurpleWh1teGreen · 13/04/2021 12:08

As I said yesterday, I think Bunbury - or at least the OP, is a useful reminder.

We would need to bump it without TAATing. Maybe we could celebrate achievements & feminists?

Or dump our best swear words

OwBist · 13/04/2021 12:21

When I thinking of Bunburying these days, I end up with The Happy Wanderer as an ear-worm. Maybe we should post about the best songs to stomp along to, shutting out all external noise (including the clicking of our knees, if applicable).

StrangeLookingParasite · 13/04/2021 14:05

"I love to go, a-blundering..."

Sophoclesthefox · 13/04/2021 14:09

@StrangeLookingParasite

"I love to go, a-blundering..."
I love to go a-blundering My pronouns on my badge And as I go I proudly sing I’m a person with a vag.
alkanet · 13/04/2021 15:27

Hahaha, sorry, lurking in the corner with a Jameson's, spat it over the table😂

Wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 13/04/2021 15:28

Hello. It's been an interesting day.

transbadger · 13/04/2021 16:20

Hello all

What's the script on here then?

🦡🌈🤍

DaisiesandButtercups · 13/04/2021 16:38

Good afternoon transbadger

Pick your poison and a socially distanced seat in the pub garden.

I’m off to ask the barwoman if she’d be so good as to bring over a few logs for the fire pit to keep us cosy.
