Facemasks on for a trip to the Bluestocking

We haven't had a Bluestocking thread for fucking ages.

Anyone fancy a socially distanced, tables of no more than 6, Bluestocking?

The goat has been covid tested and the patriarchy busting canon polished up to remove all possible virus traces from its surface.

Remember, MN spans the globe, and it's always before the 10pm curfew somewhere.

persistent I think that word's been getting deletions for quite some time. Which I find rather worrying in a parenting thread.

I mean, what sort of adult would have an interest in talking about explicit sexual techniques to teens (including underage teens), and to what end? There might be a reason... but it would seem we can't join dots any more. Basic pattern recognition bad, slapped wrists all round. It's a mystery, I tell you.

I saw the g word get a post auto deleted in a thread about what to call a dog hairdressing business. The poster misspelled name as bame, I think that in conjunction with the g word got the post completely hoovered up.

CaraDuneRedux · 29/11/2020 16:34

Still, I'm sure the lurkers are reading that thread watching biologically male people giving free rein to their "lesbian strap on fun" fantasies and thinking "WTAF!"

Every day's a schoolday. Just maybe not in the way that certain very doggedly persistent posters intend it to be. I don't think they're accomplishing quite what they think they're accomplishing.

Thank you persistentwoman, that's really nice of you to say Thanks

MaudTheInvincible · 29/11/2020 17:00

I've hidden that thread yesterday evening. It made me very fucking queasy, seeing how insistent some posters are in their pursuit of certain ideas.

persistentwoman · 29/11/2020 17:03

Indeed CaraDuneRedux
The posts I saw deleted were powerful with (from what I saw) no breaching of the guidelines - but they did use the g word to describe the behaviour of adults discussing sexual acts with children below the age of consent in schools as grooming children.
Maybe I'll ask for some clarification from MNHQ at some stage - won't discuss it any further here or we'll be accused of this becoming a TAAT.

midgebabe · 29/11/2020 17:04

Well tbh, I am starting to wonder if one poster is actually some kind of agent /influtrator because they must surely realise that such openness about their desires isn't going to appeal to many women

If they are, it can only bring gc into disrepute when unmasked , so I hope not

Agent/infiltrator on behalf of who Hmm I might mean whom.
WaveWalker · 29/11/2020 17:13

I'm aware that undercover police targeted women's lib in the 70s, and political forums which operate like mn about a decade ago. They organised online music swaps to get names/addresses of posters, then infiltrated a load of groups which had posters as members.

Is all that as a concern a bit tinfoil hat?

Is it unreasonable to wonder whether any are signed up on here and active in FWR as GC GC allies or TRAs?

littlbrowndog · 29/11/2020 17:34

Yes persistent woman

I am going to ask as well

WaveWalker · 29/11/2020 17:36

Unless I'm the suspected agent who is bad for the movement
I don't want to have to post an "it's .... account" point image about myself...

Black coffee please, I'm in danger of going where madness lies with the potential rabbitholes

Good littlbrowndog. You were one of the posters I was thinking about.

I believe some of the "underhisgaze" people make no secret about the extreme extent of their "monitoring" of FWR alongside regular forays onto the site (although I think some of them are now pbp?)

Still - it shows the power of women speaking out and the desperation of these people to silence us.

I've got my own bias when I post, but I do realise that. I use the boards here to discuss stuff that impacts me, and discussion should take in different viewpoints, otherwise it's just a monologue. I think its the potential reason of motivation behind upholding certain ideas that makes me uncomfortable.

WaveWalker · 29/11/2020 17:56

@persistentwoman it does. I think I am wondering more whether there have ever been any officers deployed and paid to infiltrate and monitor MN posters , and influence discussions and group stability,
in a similar way - basically I wonder whether these boards would be exposed as a targeted and infiltrated group by spycops if anyone looked into it

I'm assuming the general assumption is that we're an unlikely target. ...

WaveWalker · 29/11/2020 18:09

This is the auto deleted post which broke talk guidelines for suggesting what I remember to be an inoffensive business name while misspelling "name" and using the g word in context of dog hairdressing.

Can we ask mn to clarify what guidelines it broke?

Winesalot · 29/11/2020 19:29

Thank you SophocIestheFox.

I have been too busy to get too involved today. But it feels like Groundhog Day!! It is like some posters forget what they posted late the night before.

And that they think admitting they have never actually read what they have repeatedly labeled hateful doesn’t completely undermine the credibility of all posts on that thread and forever more. And it is blindingly obvious other posters have not either. Or know anything about safeguarding.

It is surreal.

But anyway, a cuppa tea before I start catching up again please. And I have some fresh made bikkies to share too!!!

CaraDuneRedux · 29/11/2020 19:32

Anyone else suspect we're seeing a deliberate attempt to turn a thread into a bunfight to get it pulled?

Maybe some people may have belatedly realised their Freudian slip has been showing.

OP posts:
midgebabe · 29/11/2020 19:40

I can see some people would need it pulled. Archive anyone?

Winesalot · 29/11/2020 19:41

Absolutely. Poster’s hated being reminded of their slip ups ..... And their friend is valiant in ignoring that slip up.

Oh dear.

Winesalot · 29/11/2020 19:42
