It’s a strange world when George Galloway is the voice of reason but he is only saying what the vast majority of people think.

Gncq · 04/10/2020 13:59

Awaits death threats, rape threats and dick pics showering down on George Galloway...

EdgeOfACoin · 04/10/2020 14:03

I vehemently disagree with George Galloway on most things. I agree with him on this subject.

I am a bit confused though. I keep hearing that only the hard right support JKR.

nosswith · 04/10/2020 17:26

It is indeed a strange world when the misogynist George Galloway has views on a subject which most would agree with.

Babdoc · 04/10/2020 17:32

He seems to be a reformed character. He’s even fighting the ghastly SNP and their independence nonsense!
I’m gobsmacked to find myself agreeing with him on anything, let alone two separate issues. But here we are. I’ll take allies wherever I can find them. My enemy’s enemy, etc...

On one day I read sense on this issue from George Galloway AND Michael Portillo. Strange bedfellows!

Abhannmor · 04/10/2020 17:53

Harrumph. He was 100% the voice of reason on Iraq.

mindfulnessfail · 04/10/2020 19:11

That was great. Not sure he needed to add the 'gay' to the 'transgender and transvestite' bit tho - my personal opinion is that LGB should move far far away from the T - but a clear and simple message

DidoLamenting · 04/10/2020 19:15

He did a fantastic job on his 2014 lecture tour. I know someone who in a last ditch effort to make his teenage daughters see sense took them to hear Galloway speak and he changed their mind to No.

He seems to be a reformed character. He’s even fighting the ghastly SNP -- another party that has been captured by identity politics.

Good old George. I've often disagreed with him, but he's never been afraid to say what he believes. And here he is taking a stand for realism, for sanity. Good man.

Yes, he's a fantastic orator. I'll give him that.
andyoldlabour · 04/10/2020 20:49

Well said George, the clear voice of reason.

TinaBarrow · 04/10/2020 21:58

About time too.

Greencoatblue · 04/10/2020 23:34

Absolutely gobsmacked! Would never have thought in a thousand years I'd watch GG saying anything and I'd be nodding along and clapping him! Well said that man, more power to his elbow since women's elbows are truly fucked.

cloudylemonade13 · 05/10/2020 00:28

George Galloway is a hate-filled, sectarian misogynist - he is not a "good man".

YetAnotherSpartacus · 05/10/2020 08:48

What did Michael Portillo say? I'm all ears!

StillNotAGirl · 05/10/2020 10:20
Hmm

George Galloway is still a misogynistic arse

PopperUppleton · 05/10/2020 11:55

At least he doesn't split his infinitives Grin

What did he say in the video that you disagree with?

Come on now we all know ths score by now. You can only agree that a person made some good points if you agree with everything else they've ever said. That's how adult discourse works /s

Eugh, I feel like I need a shower after watching that. He's not transphobic because he once met a trans woman and tenderly kissed her on the cheek, yuck, especially yuck given his previous views on consent. And what ridiculous hyperbole, so some kid burnt a copy of JK's book on youtube, people burn things all the time, people burnt Bob Dylan's records when he started using an electric guitar, it's hardly akin to the Salem Witch Trials. Repeated slurs based on mental health as well and all through the medium of a homophobic murderous regime's state tv channel.

dolorsit · 05/10/2020 12:34

Sometimes you don't need to see a posters name to recognise who wrote it. Grin

ThinEndOfTheWedge · 05/10/2020 12:45

Excellent - you will need them. (Your ears I mean).

There was a long thread on this at the time.

SunsetBeetch · 05/10/2020 12:45

i don't think you listened properly jj. He didn't "once meet" her, she is a friend of his.

I have to say I do find him rather slimy. It might be that Big Brother cat incident...
