Great to see more famous people sign but I wish more authors and others had the guts to sign.

It's reassuring to know so many can see this bullshit for what it actually is. The activists would have us believe this is a minority position. It isn't.

Maybe, but I don't think so. It's more about free speech and anti-bullying. Although, for a lot it's both about GC and supporting JKR's right to speak freely.

Yup. That’s what I was thinking too. No matter what way the wokesters try to spin it, most people will see it as another attack on JKR. By signing it, they’ve just implied that over 18000 people are bigots. I’m sure that’s went down well. If they played football, they’d need a bigger net, with all the own goals they keep scoring.

Have you all seen the article in Private Eye about this? It's excellent - re orgs that are supposed to defend writers and free speech remaining silent on this. (don't think it's available online, I bought the paper - £2)

Although, I wouldn't count it as support. I noticed on the current opening credits of Have I got News For You, JKR is featured with a group of angry students trying to pull her statue down, including one with a rainbow flag on their t-shirt.

I spent ten minutes scrolling down the comments. Gender-critical views (i.e., do not erase women or force women to be silent) appear to be the most common expression in them though freedom of speech is also mentioned. It is lovely to see so many signatures.

I've been wondering about Private Eye and how it's been pretty quiet on this topic apart from the occasional cartoon. I subscribe but never manage to read the whole thing, I'll go straight to this
