On the JHB show on Talk Radio just now, Douglas Murray has just completely laid into Mermaids! Rewind to 9.17, show live on YouTube now.

@ColleagueFromMars

Oh boy. As a leftie I'm gutted that not only can I not stand the guardian any more and find the Times to be sensible writing, but now I agree with the Daily Mail.

Maybe I'm transitioning Hmm Sad

Is it wrong that I’m basking in this new sunlight? How wonderful that the worm is finally turning.

Gncq · 28/09/2020 09:51

Yeah Goldsmith's, the wokest of the woke, home of the smearing dual named trans activist Natacha Kennedy

And let's not forget our favourite Labour "Women's" officer.

SunsetBeetch · 28/09/2020 09:58

I watched Zuby talking to Douglas Murray on Zuby's podcast, and they were pondering if wokeness was a substitute for religion. I don't think it's a coincidence that much of the atheist movement on YouTube are very pro IDPOL (people like Hbomberguy and Contrapoints and the rest of that crowd). (Although thank god for people like Andy Lewis.)

I hope someone writes a book on it someday. It's fascinating (and rather horrifying).

Oh, fab!

I really worry with all of this volte face that they are going to try and turn around and accuse us of some of the things they are guilty of.

Me too. Tho' I love the smell of DARVO in the morning.

Oxyiz · 28/09/2020 10:16

Off topic but I STILL hear Ben Stiller saying "merman!" every time I hear the word Mermaids.

tornadoalley · 28/09/2020 10:32

Dear god, it's just horrifying to read that the only 'acceptable' female is now a girlie, pink loving, pouty version of femininity.

Are we not allowed to be adventurous, sporty and tomboyish without being shoehorned into gender reassignment surgery?

ARoombaOfOnesOwn · 28/09/2020 10:33

Great clip of Julia and Douglas there thank you.

RoyalCorgi · 28/09/2020 10:45

If anyone wants to watch Douglas speaking specifically about the trans stuff, it's two hours 46 mins in. He calls Mermaids an "extremist organisation". How satisfying.

BitOfFun · 28/09/2020 10:52

I'm glad that the GI/Barbie infographic has been mentioned, so they can't reverse ferret that.

SerenityNowwwww · 28/09/2020 11:36

I hope they also start tagging the frankengingerbread person (not them I know but also popped up all over the place).

MadamBatty · 28/09/2020 11:48

Can people stop saying tomboy? It’s grating at this stage. There’s lots of different ways to be a girl or woman. Some woman like shorthair , jeans & outdoor pursuits. Some women like frills & sparkles. Some women dont give a rats arse about any of those things. What they have in common is being a woman & XX chromosomes.

Running, jumping, short hair, trouser wearing are not part of being a man or woman.

ButcherManWasSomeLady · 28/09/2020 12:07

Tomboy and girly-girl are both questionable.

If there is no male counterparts that's how you know.

Boyish-boy? Tomgirl?

Nah! Just insults - acting like a girl/sissy, throwing like a girl etc. It's obviously and pathetically a one way street.

justanotherneighinparadise · 28/09/2020 12:14

Women’s hour on radio four are discussing the GRA tomorrow.

Thank you! Very satisfying. He didn't hold back.

AngryBananaSund · 28/09/2020 12:23

I think very much so. Some people need to believe in something greater than themselves, they need to be part of the army Of the right. Only by seeing themselves as part of a grand structure can they find meaning.

ButcherManWasSomeLady · 28/09/2020 12:32

Only by seeing themselves as part of a grand structure can they find meaning.

Another similarity with religion.

ButcherManWasSomeLady · 28/09/2020 12:32

Er..yeah. That point was already made! Carry on!

Steve Hassan is concerned about the issue and the similarities are not lost on him,

Wandawomble · 28/09/2020 12:44

We haven’t become more right wing, the left’s papers have just allowed this scandal to grow and fanned the flames of the JKR burning and are complicit in the harm of children.
