Mumsnet Towers - Please can we call men men now ?

I do appreciate all Mumsnet Towers did over the last few years/months of pressure, still allow women to talk about gender issues abet with a list of rules to follow.

But now Mermaids now says that noone is born into the wrong body, there is no need to lie on our posts in order to refer to a man as a woman anymore, is there?

Please can the feminist sections rules be revised to reflect the current reality ?

If no one is ‘born in the wrong body’ then they also didn’t accidentally end up with the wrong coloured (blue or pink?) brain either.

absolutely, it should be possible to call men, men on MN. It always should have been. However it will be massively infuriating if MN do a 180 on this just because mermaids now say it’s fine. Mermaids shouldn’t have that sort of control over MNHQ.

Plus with the second one people know exactly what that is whereas "transwoman" is (deliberately?) confusing.
