Just that. I am looking at Twitter and here and just so bloody happy!

It's been a shit year, lockdown has just restarted, lots of scary things still in the world, but for a brief moment, let's sit back and enjoy what amazing (extra)ordinary women have achieved. Wine Cake Glitterball

So many incredible women, and the odd men to thank for being here. I propose the first toast, to the inimitable JK Rowling, Wine without whose sunlight on the attacks on women's rights, I very much doubt that the recent turnaround in events would have happened.

@SVHJess

MNHQ did nothing though.
They kept a space open that many others would have closed.

I used to nod along and "be kind", without thinking about it, until I started reading on here.

Mumsnet: Come for the advice on nappies and milk letdown, stay for the radical feminism. Grin

I still want that "Radicalised on Mumsnet" t-shirt, Sir Samuel (one of my all time fave Pratchett characters, btw).

I'm a few hours behind, but I will have Friday night drink - cheers! Wine

Gurufloof · 25/09/2020 23:42

MNHQ could have just shut down fwr, for as long as they wanted. I bet it cost dear to keep it running. So thanks to them. They persisted when virtually every other online site shut down discussion and banned posters for even mentioning trans.

ArabellaScott · 25/09/2020 23:43

I'd like to Wine to @MNHQ. They have held space here in the face of relentless campaigns. Thank you.

🍷 Magdalen...

ButcherManWasSomeLady · 26/09/2020 10:59

@teawamutu

Raising my gin to: No self-ID DfE guidance Crispin Blunt making a massive twat of himself Labour getting ratioed to wotsit by enraged women Morgane Oger losing in Canada JKR billboard in San Francisco JKR topping the bestseller list (and having a new Strike to read) Puberty blockers enquiry Mermaids reverse ferreting Posie, Venice and co bringing the sunshine in Leeds

Cheers, vipers. Been one HELL of a week.

Great list, worth repeating. But I have missed the MorganO ger story and a can't find anything online.

Anyone?

DeliciouslyFemale · 26/09/2020 11:35

I so wish poor Magdalen was here to see all this. I hope her family are getting great comfort from the knowledge that she was one of the most influential voices in the fight for the safety, tights and dignity of women. She made so many people open their eyes to the reality of what was happening and will never be forgotten. When the children of the future look back on this, her name will always be remembered as one of the sheros, unlike the seedy individuals who are currently rowing back from their support of some horrendous decisions, that have caused suffering to so many women and children.

SerenityNowwwww · 26/09/2020 11:53

Well she helped light the touch paper.
