If the GRA goes through is anyone planning on changing their gender?

I mean, if I legally change my gender I don't have to do anything else do I? Still dress and call myself whatever I want? I hope an 18% pay rise will be coming my way though.

@BrassicaRabbit

If we self identified as men, would we be able to get future incidents of sexual harassment, assault, cat calling, abuse etc categorised as hate crimes?
Actually, yes you can.

There is no such thing as hate crime against women but there is such a thing as hate crime against transpeople. So if you identify as male or even non binary you can then get the crimes recorded and the perpetrator 'spoken to' by the police.

I think if self ID does go ahead all women should do this and absolutely flood the police with hate crimes against them, as transgender people.

I agree.
I would love to see how the police and the courts deal with a biological female, who is very obviously a women (as most trans women are very obviously biologically men) in possession of a GRC making her legally a man, making a complaint of trans hate crime because a bloke shouted at her to "get her tits out".

I suspect what may happen though is that SHE would face these potential legal penalties for not being really trans.
...but for anyone considering a change, it's simply important to know exactly who you are. The choice posted above is just a tiny selection. Here's a handy guide to them all: www.myumbrella.org.uk/guide-to-lgbt/gender-identities
Oh my god- that's not even a parody website is it?!? Jesus. It's like Pokemon.

In Keira Bell's Ask Me Anything thread from April 2020, she says it's not possible to get a Gender Recognition Certificate annulled. So, legally she is still male.

So this means that I could self ID as male, get a GRC, then get pregnant, have a baby, and could then breast feed the child? Would I be on the child's birth certificate as their father?

Sorry, posted too soon.

Could I then never revoke the GRC to legally be female despite have just given birth to a child? So does this mean men become pregnant and give birth now?
