There is no way this was just badly thought through.... Hmm

I think this comment sums it up

“Let's add it up: Red=eroticism, sports car=substitute for potency, animal print mini-skirt=sex appeal, banana=phallic symbol. But sure this is all just accidental...”

Do you think this was someone testing the waters so to speak about how society might respond to something like this? I’ve read quite a few things on here about how the MRA has as its core aim to normalise paedophilia as just another sexual preference (eg minor attracted person) and this was what immediately jumped to my mind with this ad.

What do you think??

Haven't RTFT so apologies if already mentioned but I was thinking about this again today. Would a male child have been posed in a similar way? Hell no. Little boys have been used in an adult way to comedic effect in family car ads before- those "mini dads" Zafira ads...remember them? Conversely, would they have used equivalent girls in those ads: slightly chubby, cute enough but non beautiful wee northern lassies of 8 or 9 saying, Ey oop, turned out nice again, how many miles to t' gallon are you getting from that?

Likewise teen Vogue teaching children of 13 how to have anal sex, and the sex lessons in school that don't condemn the use of underage porn, teach children how to shove things up their arses, and which never seem to have any sections on boundaries and how girls can say no with assertiveness.

Not forgetting two doctors quiet happily agreeing on twitter that little girls becoming child brides for older men was hunky dory because culture. 🤮

Those who don’t see it are probably not familiar with fast cars or sports cars.

When there is a ad with a women draped over the bonnet eating a melting ice cream, the message is - buy a fast car and the women will come, you will probably get a blow job too. That’s obviously not reality, but some people do believe that if they have a nice fast sporty car they will get more female attention...and some do.

It’s the fact that in this ad, the women has literally been substituted for a child!!

It’s sickening, not the photo, but the message that normally comes across with ads that contain women and fast/sporty cars, so to use a child is just wrong!

The accompanying tweet specifically reads as something someone on the German side didn't bother running by the translation team. 'In every aspect' reads as terrible English to me. The subsequent tweets on the same account are riddled with mistakes/nonsensical English, too. This is obviously not a comment on the photo itself. I'm wondering from just how high up the 'slogan' can originate if it never even got run past a translation team.

It's a very strange advert but I find it difficult to believe they deliberately set out to market the car to paedophiles.

When I first saw it I thought the message was supposed to be we don't do the nasty sexist thing of women draped over cars anymore, we know that your children are what's important to you. I thought it was an attempt at a subtle way to market a car to women without overtly saying women are responsible for children/childcare.

No one is saying they marketing the car to paedophiles....just that it is deliberately sexualising a small female child.

Just like a car advert that was racist, you wouldn’t say “they were obviously trying to market it to racist car buyers”

I feel like the posters who keep posting things like this are being deliberately obtuse??

No they haven’t done the “nasty sexist thing of draping a woman over the car”, they’ve leaned a young child against it instead. Holding a banana Hmm

What's the "benefit" of deliberately sexualising a child in an advert if it's not to appeal to paedophiles? I think a racist advert would be deliberately speaking to racists, we've seen that often enough and overtly in political campaigning or in newspapers etc.

Some people don't even realise that this is normalising the sexualisation of children.

So it's not about buying the car on that basis.

It's so not only about the intent of Audi. It's about the effect of their actions.
