So.. how could we go about this?

Should we go for one big demo in say London? Possibly to coincide with a Posie event at Speakers Corner? Several events on the same day across the UK? Just encourage local groups to organise their own thing? What do you think? Would you attend? Any thoughts or suggestions...

If there was a demo close to me I would go. I am ready to be out on this. I couldn't get to London easily though. If there was one in my region I would go.

So the Tokyo Olympics Women's Marathon was scheduled for the 8th August. (8th of the 8th).

A day of women's sporting events?

@Winesalot

Sadly, any tweeting campaign might be significantly diluted by activist activity. Either by posting anime, kpop, redirecting hashtags to donations for organisations that are only about affirming gender ideology. Whereas a physical march on multiple locations has a strong barrier to being overwhelmed.
Just fill your tweets with a big black box. That would drive people bonkers. Just a big old ugly black box.

For something social media based - maybe posting the Equality Act. It may serve as a reminder that women do have sex based rights that are being taken away/threatened. And also that gender is not a protected characteristic, but gender reassignment is.

crunchermuncher · 03/08/2020 12:15

Highlighting what the EA actually says is a great idea. We need to shine the truth in to what is actually happening and what the law really says- challenge the 'rolling back rights' nonsense rhetoric that's being parroted.

crunchermuncher · 03/08/2020 12:19

Not sure I'm allowed to reference whose rights are supposedly being 'rolled back' (in some inexplicable, indefinable way).

ErrolTheDragon · 03/08/2020 13:32

As opposed to those whose rights actually are/have been rolled back. Who I'll name clearly as women and girls. Human females.

On the 24 hour social media thing it could be across them all, whichever you are on, using one single hashtag (plus others of your choice) using all the examples already thrown up on here - facts, definitions of EA, personal stories etc etc. Yes of course it will get hijacked, they always do, but it won't mean it will be ineffective or diluted. It might spark conversations, online and in real life and show strength of feeling.

Thanks for these...food for thought!

I'm wondering if there's a thread on here that lists possible actions for new recruits as such, e.g. Man Fridays, things to ask at your DCs school etc? Putting things together in one place..

Do people think that's a good idea? I'd be happy to start putting something together about schools.
