I read a post on instagram the other day about a man who had periods. He had high estrogen levels allegedly and this caused him to bleed out of his penis monthly. Accompanying severe pain a la a period.

Except obviously its not a fucking period is it? So its either bullshit or theres something seriously wrong. It is not normal to actively bleed monthly from any organ bar your uterus, i feel like men dont even understand what a period is and seem to think its some open wound in the vagina?

Has he gotten confused and is actually referring to whatever the neo vagina is made out of, penis, colon (have I got that right, are some vaginas made out of a colon?)
I mean, even if he has, the fact that a neo vagina is bleeding would also be a massive problem....

That person's twitter feed is a real shitshow. If they mean what they are saying then they are a fully paid up anti-Semite and hater of anyone who believes in any sort of God (but apparently a magical ladysoul is all cool, go figure...)

It’s a total misunderstanding, like we just bleed random blood monthly because of, I dunno, tradition, rather than it being specific blood from a specific source based on one’s body doing a specific action due to possessing a specific body part (uterus) - and if you don’t HAVE that specific body part then it’s not a fucking period!

Don't know if they do colon neo vaginas for sex reassignment but I remember reading a story in a magazine about a teenage girl born near Chernobyl having this surgery due to being born without one.

Just to add, for those females born without a vagina, but with a uterus, they used to use part of the colon to build it. But latest methods use tissue grown from cells harvested from parts they do have to construct a working vagina.

For the lurkers: a period is not bleeding. Bleeding is what happens when you cut yourself shaving.

A period is a female body shedding the nutrient-rich lining of the uterus, which has been prepared in anticipation of implantation by a fertilised egg (ie large gamete + small gamete). If egg implantation doesn’t occur, this lining is shed, ready to try again next month.

Period “blood” is a mixture of blood (but with fewer blood cells than normal blood), mucus, tissue and vaginal secretions.

Only human females have periods, because only human females have the necessary biological organs and functions for periods to occur. Taking female hormones cannot trigger periods because periods can’t happen unless you posses a female reproductive system.
