The ratio on Twitter is quite something.

They so need to be called out on this. These are the creeps who are coercing children into accepting porn (there's a better word but I'm told we're banned from using it?).

HoneysuckIejasmine · 23/07/2020 16:49

Shock I've never seen such a ratio!

KaronAVyrus · 23/07/2020 17:12

So just another creepy dude (with beard obvs) telling women and girls to ignore their boundaries. How original.

Binterested · 23/07/2020 17:37

Re the breathplay piece:

Labour MP stands up for women

Kantastic · 23/07/2020 17:47

What is this creep's investment in this issue?

Usually with the beardbros they are lashing out in "defense" of transwomen. Typically it seems like they have a mild case of AGP, not enough to act on it, but enough to daydream about it, and they're all upset at the idea that if they did choose to act on their daydreams, some women might not think they were super amazing women who were better than all the actual women and in fact they'd win a gold medal for being so womanly and then the entire train would stand up and applaud them for their womaning skills. Actual women saying TWANW ruins the narcissistic daydream.

But this is not about TW. So... what exactly is this creep's investment in teenage girls being harmed by the medical establishment?

I don't understand - I've gone to look at it and it is now saying 1.1k retweets and comments. Where have 5000 comments gone (or am I just being dim, don't use Twitter).
SheWhoMustNotBeHeard · 23/07/2020 18:14

@Collidascope I knew I was missing something from my life...a period coach. Hmm

SheWhoMustNotBeHeard · 23/07/2020 18:16

1.2 retweets. 6.2k comments - the speech bubble

DrDavidBanner · 23/07/2020 18:28

I do wonder why a journalist who writes for Teen Vogue should be so against this conversation. I keep trying to think there isn't an alterior motive going on but this isn't right.

Its like once you start digging a little deeper all the dodgy shit starts bubbling out.

Apollo440 · 23/07/2020 18:41

It's just clickbait. Write offensive shit and they will come. Job done. I wouldn't be surprised if they followed it up in a couple of months with another crap article just for the reaction. Journalistic integrity? What's that?

craftyjan · 23/07/2020 20:59

You have to look at the tweet on the mag's twitter page to see the number of comments @TheWayOfTheWorld

HarryHarry · 23/07/2020 21:17

Sorry I’m not on Twitter, can somebody explain the ratio thing people keep referring to?

Siablue · 23/07/2020 21:27

The ‘journalist’ also writes for Man repeller! Women repeller would be a more accurate description however I see from that Twitter feed he has successfully repelled a fair few men as well.

FloralBunting · 23/07/2020 21:29

HarryHarry, on twitter, you can like, comment or share a tweet. If you get more likes than comments on a tweet, it usually indicates the tweet has gone over well. If you get more comments than likes, it usually means people are taking the opportunity to point out what is wrong with your tweet, and the 'ratio' of comments to likes is considered to show that your tweet has gone down as well as a bucket of cold sick.

hamstersarse · 23/07/2020 21:29

Journos tend to hate Joe Rogan because he’s untouchable and uncancellable. He has a platform completely out of the mainstream media getting audience numbers Men’s Health can only dream of.

Which is why he can have these ‘controversial’ conversations and has been questioning trans rights for years.

I love the podcast platform for this reason. Actual free speech and people love it.

Siablue · 23/07/2020 21:38

HarryHarry in this case 6.6 thousand people have commented on the article basically saying it’s a pile of crap and only 550 people have liked it.

HarryHarry · 23/07/2020 21:39

@FloralBunting Thank you for explaining!

ForgotAboutThis · 23/07/2020 21:58

The majority of their articles featuring trans people seem to be about transmen achieving hyper masculine bodies or performing stereotypical 'manly' activities. Can't deny thing about menstruation or how cis men can make being a man more inclusive, or how to care for your trans partner during sex etc. It's almost like they get to set their own boundaries or something Hmm

FannyCann · 23/07/2020 22:19

What a disgusting magazine. Here they are advising on how to strangle a woman. It's not enough to pass a new domestic abuse bill. Articles like this are unacceptable.
