It's still OK to say 'men' on tena products 😡

I took this photo in a pharmacy yesterday - I almost laughed at how big the word 'men' was on the packaging, and yet none of the other products dared say they were for women.
The obvious double standard just makes me so angry - the attempted erasure of the word 'woman' is just so obvious here.

But surely Trans women can also need male-body-shape facilitating incontinence pads? In exactly the same way that tampons are being targeted for being incorrect in saying that they are for women/girls?

And why are they always places alongside tampons anyway - why not next to shaving cream ad condoms?

Oh ffs does it matter. Tena lady will always be tena lady. Even if they dont put the lady bit on the packaging
Does it matter that the word women is being infiltrated?
Does it matter that any man who fancies can call himself a woman?
Does it matter that if any man can call himself a woman, the word becomes meaningless. Meaningless in law.

Does it matter that women, instead of being referred to as women, are being referred to as dehumanising terms such as cervix haver, menstruator, birther.
(Didn’t then greens go all out out and call us non-men at one point. Or might have been the Lib Dem’s. I’m losing track.)

Does it matter that the F in female genital mutilation is being stealthily replaced by the word forced?
Does it matter that productions of shows like the vagina monologues are being shut down because of the word vagina?
Does it matter that this is ONLY happening to the word women, and not men? As noted by this tena lady example.
As noted by a search of the body shop website coming up with 0 result la for the word women, and 60 odd results of the word men.
This is another example of an insidious campaign, which will only be sated by total capitulation.

Yes, FFS, it does matter.

We can’t say women but we can say man. Doesn’t that just seem very sinister and weird?

Bashingboris · 17/07/2020 16:44

There is a recent thread that gives lots of praise to Bodyform. Tena and Bodyform are both brands of the same company, Essity. If there is an evil plan they are obviously quite selective on the products that they apply it to.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to explain. Very interesting!!

Possibly they saw how it went for always .. i doubt they wanna give up the extra custom after the boycott.

frog22 · 17/07/2020 17:07

I'm glad they don't put Woman on the packaging. It's alway a way to charge more for the same products as men use. Anyone who has tried to buy a razor will understand.

SarahTancredi · 17/07/2020 17:09

Aren't incontinence aids tax free? Thankfully in this instance it shouldn't matter.

But yes it sucks we get taxed fir essential items while men shave tax free

I’m glad I discovered this board as it’s educated me so much, but in another way that knowledge has made me so angry.

ShinyFootball · 19/07/2020 01:12

Agree that in general the fact that the words women and girl and female are becoming verboten while man boy male are used without argument highlights the deep double standards and misogyny of the trans movement.
