I have a few family members who are very tech savvy. Ex silicone valley. They all avoid google like the plague. Have warned me not to use it.

I actually just swapped over to Duck Duck Go. Most ads are gone from sites and everything loads super fast. It's been great.

Because they monitor, record, track, share and sell every little bit of information you record.
They read and intercept emails.
Most recently emails sent to MPs regarding women's rights. There is a thread here somewhere.
It is quite scary.

There is massive corporate pressure being put on this govt to introduce self ID.

I KNOW! Why are these corporations so dead set on pushing through self ID? It's certainly not to "protect a vulnerable minority" - vulnerable minorities don't have this amount of corporate power behind them. By definition.

There’s something very wrong here. Obviously we will keep fighting. We always knew there were big powers ranged against us, but this latest revelation is properly sinister.

What is their preferred endgame here?

1. 'Innocuous' but important changes like allowing X on passports, and letting people born male competing against people born female in sport

1. Free access for anyone born male to any female-only spaces, effectively removing them and creating a super-class of people who benefit from both male and female privilege

1. A world where opinions that deviate from proscribed, acceptable ones are deemed to be unworthy, and those that hold them are 'cancelled' by the majority, threatening their livelihoods and professional reputations

We also have the immediate threat of covid, as well as the secondary implications around mental health, dv and isolation for old people. Plus the shitshow that is Brexit consequences- isn't that enough dystopia to be going on without creating another level?

Consider how many organisations make regular donations to Stonewall.
Who is controlling what children are being taught in our schools.

Isn't the US (religious right) very pro Trans agenda. They would rather children be trans than gay. If so, these US companies might have a strong Trans Lobby encouraging these moves. It would make sense wouldn't it.

I've switched to Duck duck go on Safari on my phone. It also doesn't track you. I don't want money from my activities propping up PN. I'd rather Google paid their share of tax in the UK and it went on schools and hospitals

£300K is a hell of a lot of money!

Should pay for a nice job for a crony or two, as well as the spam machine advocacy technology.

Perhaps they could use it to learn how to be journalists.

They are failures of journalism so are pivoting to become a Google trans lobby group? 300k won't keep them going long.
