For anyone on twitter, it's time for another round of likes and support.

Just seen this too. Let's see what the reaction from the cult is today.

Just seen this too. Let's see what the reaction from the cult is today.

Seems to be only a handful of negative comments that say 'Just Stop', as of yet.

'Just stop giving voices to people who shine a light on the very negative and dangerous side of this ideology.'

I'm so thrilled JKR isn't backing down on this. She's an absolute gem, only a fool would fail to see she's coming at this from a very caring and concerned place.

highame · 12/07/2020 18:18

Why are they blaming JKR for the article? Why don't they write to John Witherow, Editor of the Times. It's almost as though they believe JKR wrote it, printed it, made the paper, made the ink etc etc. Why are they not blaming themselves for not acknowledging detransition happens and all the nastiness and abuse directed at those who detransition..

Its a mad, mad, mad, mad world

wellbehavedwomen · 12/07/2020 18:23

She's wonderful.

She's being bloody brave - I don't care how rich she is, no human likes to be facing what she is. She's doing it because she thinks it's important enough to face down the rage. We've been wishing someone with a massive profile would do so for some time - well, now someone is, and she's not giving an inch.

FloralBunting · 12/07/2020 18:28

I think the 'just stop' replies remind me of that indolent stage a toddler gets to when they've tantrummed for a while to no avail and screamed themselves hoarse.

"Why won't the woman shut up? I'm bored of screaming, it usually works quicker."

TheHeartbeat · 12/07/2020 18:29

The negative comments are mostly people who’ve been convinced by all sorts of arguments but they are ok. Just the usual “Just STOP.”, “You are beating trans down.” comments.

The TWAW-extremists haven’t really showed out like that but haven’t scrolled down fully.

She really is a brave, wonderful woman. I love her so much.

Well this person has spectacularly missed the point.....

Here we go - an article about females, transmen detransitioning back to recognising that they are still women, and this poster makes it all about males. This article is not about them, you numpty!

There are quite a lot of the 'just stop' posters. Loving way they feel they can silence a woman because they say so. And one twat whose going to burn her books. They got a reply from another poster saying basically 'she's already got your money so crack on'

nauticant · 12/07/2020 18:39

I don't think the tweeters who are saying that JKR shouldn't be speaking about this are coming across as well as they were expecting.

Well yes, but trans women are more important than anyone in the world surely? Hmm The thing that gets me the most is that trans women don’t experience the things that may traumatise women and make them not want to be female - periods, breasts being groped in public, fear of walking past a group of men, just to name a few.
ThatsHowWeRowl · 12/07/2020 18:44

Exactly. Tweeting 'JUST STOP' on an article about a women's issue is not a good look.

SheWhoMustNotBeHeard · 12/07/2020 18:47

Gotta love the woman. Her hand print gets trashed and she comes out fighting. Smile

That person is infamous and has an incredibly long KF thread. That is an attempt at obfuscation. Search Kiwifarms and the name and you'll see.

Yeah but plenty fetishise those things and claim they'd love them.

nauticant · 12/07/2020 18:54

After not too long I had to stop reading the replies. There's so much upside down thinking there I felt a headache developing.

JellySlice · 12/07/2020 18:55

There are Tweeters saying that the number of detransitioners is so small, 1 or 2%, so people shouldn't make such a fuss about them because doing so damages the trans narrative. Can they not see the idiocy behind these statements? The number of trans-identified people is so small, less than 1% of the population, so do the people making these statements think that we shouldn't pay attention to them because doing so damages women?

JellySlice · 12/07/2020 18:57

Sometimes I think that the feminists are the only people who actually care for the well-being and rights of trans-identified people.

LemonadeAndDaisyChains · 12/07/2020 19:18

And one twat whose going to burn her books

See, as much as I'm Hmm at what she's saying, I don't get the whole burning books thought process.
Separate the art from the artist type thing?
Otherwise there'd be nothing left to read, listen to or watch!
Dubious opinions or doings in a person doesn't mean they're not capable of great books, music, films etc.
Love Harry Potter books too

Completely agree, the irony when the trans activists come out and say detransitioners are a tiny minority of the trans population so we can disregard them, swiftly followed by demanding to be heard as a persecuted minority.

It’s not just about misdiagnosis. The additional concern about puberty blockers is that even if the people taking them are truly trans, most trans people choose not to have full surgery and opt to retain the genitalia they were born with.

Trans

DeRigueurMortis · 12/07/2020 19:55

My likes are holding but I went through a period last week when they disappeared....

Yes, it's interesting to see their logic unravel.

notyourhandmaid · 13/07/2020 01:31

The "it doesn't matter because it's only a few people" brigade... how many (mainly) young women have to be hurt before it matters? What's the acceptable number? Angry
