It's pathetic isn't it, and these people are released into the workplace and feel like they can still dictate how others must feel about issues without impunity. Universities have a responsibility, they shouldn't be effectively backing this kind of stuff, but teaching young adults that it's important to stand up for what you believe in- but not in this manner. If there was something towards men, no way would it be allowed to happen. I'm glad I went when university wasn't like this. Plenty of healthy debates, lots of societies, but none of this ridiculousness.

Excellent article from the Mail. Their coverage puts the Guardian to shame. Why isn't the Guardian (and the Independent and the BBC for that matter) covering the story of a black female PhD student being bullied by fellow students while her university stands by and does nothing?

RRS's situation is so shocking - I have read about her before and she also came up in relation to the research I was doing on a recent MN thread about the NHS trans/womens policy in the South West, affecting Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.

A key figure in the policy setting is Cheryl Morgan, a trans person with arrests for criminal damage (and apparently other things but I couldn't find it recorded anywhere so I'm not including that). Cheryl Morgan is quite busy in activism and her blog has some very unpleasant posts about women (the usual delightful articles like 'Dealing with a t**f Infestation' etc.) She also used her radio show to encourage supporters to protest the WPUK meeting that RRS attended and was quite pleased with the turnout.

This person was also a speaker at The Great Menopause Event (on the basis that they have been taking cross sex hormones for 5 years - the newspaper report about their arrest for criminal damage in 2015 refers to mh issues due to the process of transitioning) and hosts a regular radio called Women's Outlook. I am so horrified at the idea of her setting policy that affects every NHS service for women in the South West (see other MN thread - I can't work out how to link to it). I have written to them to express my concerns. Is this one for the list of 'it will never happen'? This male born person seems to have created many positions of influence for themselves on issues that directly affect women.

oops, not intending to derail the conversation about RRS but trying to reinforce the insidiousness and reach of her opponents and what she is facing in Bristol.

Yep - a protester (in a mask to hide their identity) still expects their preferred identity pronouns to be known and used...

The thing that strikes me with the protestors and #nodebate and acceptance without exception, is that if they think that what feminists are meeting to discuss is just transphobia and that they have no reasonable arguments then why go to such lengths to disrupt the meetings? Why not let them speak and let people see that they’re just ‘hateful’?

I’m sure most reasonable people can see that what they’re trying to do is silence women because they know if they speak then people will see the arguments against self-ID have merit.

At last it’s all starting to crumble.

The main pronouns appear to be I, me, and mine.

This person is a key part of the Women's equality party's plummet into irrelevance.

I couldn't be bothered with the cognitive dissonance of meetings that assumed women's equality issues in any way affected Morgan.
