Ireland - expert panel with no experts

I was going to add this to one of the other threads discussing Irish matters but it probably deserves one of its own.

I suspect this is the same the world over. Individuals claim "expertise" in being trans and miraculously are given responsibility for advising on prisons policy, medical treatment of children, child safeguarding, teaching and pastoral care, parenting, girl guiding, social care including children in the care of the state, press ethics, government policy across the field, application of the law, health practice and policy and on and on.

The overreach would be funny if it wasn't so catastrophic in every field. Experienced knowledgeable professionals, parents, voluntary organisations are deskilled in favour of self absorbed narcissists expert only in looking in the mirror.

When you read what they want its pretty obvious that very few Drs would go along with an informed consent model where you self diagnose and are just given whatever medication you want.

I know its completely different condition but 99% of people who thought they had Covid were wrong and the Irish State has already paid out for a vaccine that was given after limited clinical trials under an informed consent model and gave some people narcolepsy www.lawsociety.ie/gazette/top-stories/swine-flu/

All those articles make very depressing reading. These activists are very arrogant in their approach. Only their opinions count, and attack those that disagree.

It's terrifying. I don't know what the fuck is going on in the world.

Thanks MotherForkinShirtBalls, some interesting reads there. It's good to see prominent medical experts such Professor O'Shea speak up so strongly on behalf of vulnerable people. Stella OMalley is also excellent. She explains it very well when she said that we don't tell people with disabilities that they were born in the wrong body. Instead we help them accept the body they have. Why would the same approach not be taken towards vulnerable young people. Instead the preferred option is to start them on a pathway that can have serious long term consequences.

I would agree with this and I think that is why the GRA 2015 legislation passed without a hiccup.

There’s very confused muddy thinking that the Self Id is the same as Same Sex Attraction rights. All mixed up with #BeKind.

As sunlight permeates people are slowing waking up (no irony intended), using their critical thinking skills & saying ‘hang on, but....’.

What is horrific is Professor O' Shea saying it would be pointless for him to sit on the panel. He's the fucking expert and he knows how bonkers it is.

What frightens me is that I don't know what kind of things will be pushed through next. Age of consent obviously. But what other things in the name of being woke?

Yes, it is worrying that Prof O"Shea felt that way. It makes it appear that he was simply there for appearances only and was expected to comply with the agenda put forward.
