I've never listened to talk radio before - does it have a particular slant?

At the moment I'm enjoying listening to a sensible grown up conversation.

I think there is more to come. But very well covered so far. Great to hear adults talking about it in a rational way.

I think there's a phone-in element as well - he said the lines were open and he could see comments coming in. The presenter then remarked that he was on the receiving end of the hate from commenters.

I hope he shines some sunlight on them.

I really appreciated Helen's contribution. Very straight talking and informative as a transwomen who has obtained at GRA.

I like Talk Radio. Listen to JHB often on a morning. It makes you realise how much the BBC have swallowed the coolaid and can't discuss this properly

Helen was a hoot. I liked her a lot.

I'm liking it.

I think Helen will represent many trans women. She has gone what was in her words a long and difficult journey to obtain her GRA. She has had a medical diagnosis and gone through all the steps, which at the end of the day are there as a safeguarding mechanism to make sure this was the right path for her to take. Self id makes a mockery of her journey and doesn't protect vulnerable people who may not really be trans, they may have another issue.

I don't think I would be so concerned but our mental health provision in the UK is shocking. People need support and wanting to change gender could possibly by a symptom of something else, but with out a thorough medical diagnosis no one will know.
