Because, despite Reddit's best efforts, there are still many people believe that women have a right to discuss issues that affect them. Women will continue speaking.

But, hey, GenderCynical - I hear you still have r/abusedsluts with which to console yourselves.

@FreeKitties

We absolutely should be celebrating that mumsnet FWR is still here.

As many people have pointed out Reddit hosts discussion boards where rape and sexual abuse fetishes are freely discussed, so the justification of removing a board which discusses women’s rights is barely disguised misogyny at its very finest.

I am 39 years old I am pig sick of being told to be nice, be kind, don’t talk about that you
might upset someone. Whilst men can talk about assaulting, abusing and raping women without worrying about being judged negatively I will do all it takes to make sure women’s voices are heard.

Deleted this OP, left the admitted troll. Every day gets more surreal.

This is what I meant when I said I didn't like the tone but agreed with the sentiment. Personally I'm trying to channel Michelle Obama and rise above, though not always succeeding.

We tried that here a few years ago, 'when they go low we go high.' The admin team interpreted it to mean we agreed to a double standard on FWR. You can read it in that pinned post at the top called "Mumsnet moderation principles for discussions around gender identity and sex."

@MNHQ

Why was kennebec deleted?

I honestly don’t understand and how am I supposed to moderate my ‘tone’ if I don’t understand

And i know you say guidelines...but what guidelines?

I can’t see what she said that was wrong...especially as the other OP on the reddit thread treats us like fucking idiots, and I certainly reported that one, but nada

Please and thank you

The fact that the other thread has been turned into swiss cheese to protect the op from the results of their own behavior tells you everything you need to know, really.

MN would be unlikely to remove the Feminism board because it knows how many site users use it. Most of the most active posters on the site generally post on here too sometimes. There would be uproar.

Advertisers hold some power but advertisers are only interested because of the users. If they leave en masse, MN disappears.

Plus many users, myself included, use this board as my main and often only entry point to the site. New users often come here first these days (and that includes TRAs coming to stir up trouble, who are of course unwittingly boosting traffic to the site and improving MN's figures).

MN need to be aware, that on Reddit transactivists have taken over or forced to go to private 3 main Reddit subs devoted to discussing the female health issues of pregnancy, PCOS and periods. This is absolutely a war on women.
