The ever entertaining TRA power couple Fox and Owl were apparently represented by the same agents as the wonderful Ms Rowling.

They, along with some bloke called Drew Davies, have severed ties because the agents refused to issue a public statement slagging off their biggest client.

Being bastions of professionalism they left by telling the guardian.

Fox works for All About Trans - the recommended ‘re-education’ organisation.
Ahaha - thank you.
,I had been wondering if there might be a connection.

teawamutu · 23/06/2020 08:39

@TorkTorkBam

But but but EVERYONE on Twitter who isn't blocked by me agrees with me!!!
And there we have it.

Saw a TRA on Twitter vehemently arguing that the Times self-ID poll had been secret because they'd not been aware of it.

Well, if you block everyone who expresses views you don't like you will tend to, uh, miss stuff...

SerenityNowwwww · 23/06/2020 08:41

It was all over the place and it’s not like certain people to direct the troops is it?

TorkTorkBam · 23/06/2020 08:43

@DickKerrLadies

Hahahahah!!

From Owl's twitter:

"After learning about all the misogynistic and homophobic remarks that Tyson Fury has made I am even more adamant that the agency needs diversity training. None of this is acceptable, nor should it be tolerated."

We could keep them all very busy by pointing out people who they have to cancel now in order to keep up with their own rules and they'll have to scurry away and learn about them because obviously they didn't give enough of a shit beforehand.

Surely Owl should be offering Tyson the diversity training? Get on it Owl, come on.
RoyalCorgi · 23/06/2020 08:45

The Times comments seem unanimous. This made me laugh:

"Strange that Ugla Jonsdottir is so committed to non-binary equality whilst supporting a binary surname system."

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 23/06/2020 08:50

Looks like Owl is also on the AAT payroll (although I didn’t see it on the AAT site)?

Ah well, if Fox and Owl require legal advice, they must surely be comforted by knowing Jolyon Maugham is on the right side of history.

Owl, anyway ...

SerenityNowwwww · 23/06/2020 08:56

Oh the Guardian, I always have to look closely that it it’s a joke version (like the Penis News).

Beerincomechampagnetastes · 23/06/2020 09:00

@SerenityNowwwww

And yet the found each other.

How... biological.

GrinGrinGrin

Brilliant thread.

Floisme · 23/06/2020 09:02

Having worked my way through Owl's Twitter feed of the last 24 hours I am exhausted, astonished that they were ever taken on by a writers' agency, and also reminded of Thomas Jefferson's advice to never use two words when one will do.

wrongsideofhistorymyarse · 23/06/2020 09:04

I wonder if Owl is following this thread?

bibbitybobbitycats · 23/06/2020 09:07

@Lamahaha

looking at their list of clients I wouldn’t be surprised if JKR was bankrolling them all! There is no way these tantrumming toddlers could have thought they’d win this one

Authors are paid a percentage of their own book sales; usually around 8% of net royalties. The agent usually gets 15% so almost double. With JKR as their main client, the agency doesn't need anyone else and can just wave goodbye to these toddlers; and still get the money from future sales of their one poorly-selling book.

So, no loss to the agency whatsoever.

The agent gets 15% of the author's share of the royalties, not 15% of the total royalties. I bet JKR is on a LOT more than 8%, though.
NotBadConsidering · 23/06/2020 09:11

Owl, anyway

😆😆

How long before Jolyon tells us how he dealt with Hedwig in a kimono as a way of “sending a message” to JK Rowling?

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 23/06/2020 09:12
@DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong you're missing out! It's a very lighthearted thread!
I believe you!

...But this particular pair have been very active in indoctrinating children and adolescents into the genderwoo cult and I’m too angry to laugh at them yet. Maybe I will have a glass of wine later and see if that lightens my mood!

Quote from the founcers in The Times article:

“Freedom of speech can only be upheld if the structural inequalities that hinder equal opportunities for under-represented groups are challenged and changed.”

Er no, freedom of speech is paramount. You don't change "structural inequalities" by imposing your kind of batshit on everyone and then deciding who can or can't speak about it. Because next time, the "under-represented groups" being hindered might be ones who want to shut you up.

KayakingOnDown · 23/06/2020 09:15

I've read the Times article (thanks for sharing) and the comments are 100% in support of the agency and JK Rowling.

The equivalent Guardian article doesn't allow comments. It hasn't allowed comments on the Trans issue for a long time. (or has it given up below-the-line comments altogether?) What this indicates is that the Guardian in its pro-trans stance is pushing an ideological position, and is refusing to allow discussion or debate on it, even if it knows (from the time when comments were previously allowed) that the majority of its readers and the general population disagree with it.

It's not reporting news and allowing comment and opinion to take place. It's pure propaganda. The BBC, in its strong pro-Trans agenda, is the same.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 23/06/2020 09:15

Also, that bleating article Owl wrote about swimming is utter bobbins because all the public local pools (Brighton area) have a mixed sex changing village.

My friend, a DV survivor, pays a stupid amount to use a tiny pool at a hotel because it’s the only way she can get a guaranteed man-free changing room.

I’m almost embarrassed for Owl. Owl is a prick.

I wonder if Owl is following this thread?
They do stalk Mumsnet - remember when they did a video to "re-educate" all the silly mummies about that Butterflies drama?

They really do think their gender identities make them the pinnacle of human intellect.

DuDuDuLangaLangaBingBong · 23/06/2020 09:18

They have a cute dog. Otherwise I see no redeeming features in either of them. Fox has even spoken about Fox’s sexual trauma but still goes on to promote transition as the answer for other sexually traumatised young female people.

I expect the agency is glad to see the back of them.

NotBadConsidering · 23/06/2020 09:22

They really do think their gender identities make them the pinnacle of human intellect.

As narcissistic as they are, I will always remember how they’ve been enabled. Mediocre people with nothing about them apart from their identities given column inches in a major newspaper like the Guardian. I won’t forget. Just like I remember when they gave Jamie Shupe his own little piece about being the USA’s first “genderless” person:

www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2016/jun/16/i-am-first-official-genderless-person-united-states

Only for Jamie to admit last year that it was all a sham:

Great comment! Grin

This lot really deserve each other.

JemimaShore · 23/06/2020 09:26

Oh, also it was one of Owl's ridiculous tweets that led to Jane Clare Jones's wonderful Terf Wars piece.

Why use both hands, when one finger will do? 😉😁
Siablue · 23/06/2020 09:39

The Guardian have chosen to present this story on their Instagram ( they do this for very few stories). They have had 2 in the last week bashing JKR. The comments on this one are more in her favour.

Nobody knows who Fox and Owl are. I have had a look at their Instagram and I felt quite a lot of sympathy towards Fox. He did a post about how transitioning had almost completely relieved his gender dysphoria.

Having looked at the book. It would do harm to other young people because it presents transition as the solution. It would be good for young people who are trans to hear their story but they also need to hear the stories of people who decided not to transition. So many trans people are autistic and we do learn about how to act form copying other people so are more likely to go down a path that is not right for us. I would have a lot of sympathy with them if they did not try to silence others.

SerenityNowwwww · 23/06/2020 09:42

The two twit-tuwoos spoke at DSs school (a very ‘re-educated’ chap books the speakers) and a trans woman who spoke about the trials of being a woman in business.
