Anyone fancy challenging her over a "Hermione is probably a Terf' 'joke' in her new Netflix show, 'Douglas'? I believe she's on Twitter. No doubt EW's legal team are already on it for entirely different legal reasons.

She immediately justified it by saying she was "punching up". Wtf

I switched off straight afterwards so no idea if she was actually setting up a meta joke about how we shouldn't throw dangerous labels at each other. I doubt it though. Really disappointing as I thought her previous show, Nanette, was really good. I guess it's gone to her head and she doesn't need educated (GCSE Science) women anymore.

Do we think she's genuinely ignorant of the way the word is used, or is she lashing out at other women for some reason?

If it's any consolation, I think about one person gave her a pity laugh.

It was intended to be a joke about her lateness in attempting to climb aboard the let's kick JK Rowling bandwagon.

It must be difficult running in a suit that's too tight and that bandwagon rolled on way ahead of her. I mentally see her huffing and puffing and shouting "wait for me" . It didn't and she looks petty and opportunistic.

Well, Twitter is awash with people who claim to be trans making death and rape threats against women who politely disagree with them, so I'm not surprised they're giving themselves a bad rep @VashtaNerada.

You can hardly blame women for getting a poor impression when every biology-centred tweet they post is met with extreme misogyny and threats of murder and sexual violence. Sounds like something for the decent members of the trans community to adopt a zero tolerance policy towards - in much the same way that decent Muslims have worked to stamp out radicalisation in their communities.

If the worst GC women had to contend with was someone pointing out our clothes didn't fit we'd be ecstatic. There's simply no comparison between a mildly bitchy comment about a suit, and threatening to make someone choke to death on your 'ladydick'. Nice try though

Decent Muslims have worked to stamp out radicalisation. They don’t have to though. It shouldn’t be the burden of decent Muslims and decent trans people to police the minority of extremists. If you know Muslims IRL or trans people IRL it’s pretty bleeding obvious the majority don’t go around behaving like that.

I haven’t seen threats from the GC side but I have heard generalisations that I find offensive, such as calling trans people misogynist or saying they accept violence against women.

Bothsiderism is the term for this assertion. 4th rule of misogyny: Women's opinion are violence against men, thus male violence against women is justified.

The just want to live their own lives in peace transsexuals are in the minority. Transgenderists are the majority, and they demonize transsexuals every bit as much as they do Gays, Lesbians, and Feminists.

I disagree @VashtaNerada. Many Muslim people are more than happy to do what they can to promote a more peaceful society, because that's the kind of place they want to live in too. And there are certainly already transwomen building bridges with GC women and reporting when they've seen violent and threatening posts from TRAs. Chin up.
