Pride was started by trans women

Is currently being shared all over social media. I thought it was started by a drag queen?
As a lesbian I should know this... but google is full of articles stating it was started by black trans women and trans people should be at the centre of pride. Can anyone clarify?

I a million times Fred (I have a bit of a fangirl thing going for him). He was there unlike all the Tweenies saying that Marsha was a drag queen. And Storme wasn’t trans either (despite what the Tweenies are now saying)

Marsha didn't start Stonewall, but was there for part of it. Sylvia Rivera wasn't there, and was sleeping off a heroin dose on a park bench as it happened. The Stonewall was in general not a particularly drag friendly bar, though it would let in a few people who were known to the staff, like Marsha. There were other bars for drag queens.

There are actual photos taken at the time in which you can get a sense of who was there.

Family member was historically slightly famous, and broke gender roles. I have been waiting for someone to insist that she was trans.
