As a lesbian I should know this... but google is full of articles stating it was started by black trans women and trans people should be at the centre of pride. Can anyone clarify?

Pride (US) was started a year later to commemorate this by a group of people of both sexes involved in Gay Liberation etc..

I think the first UK one was 2 years later.

This kind of thing reads like they're writing fanfiction about real people, in which case I suppose it would make sense to pick the ones who aren't alive to potentially sue them.
