List of businesses throwing women under the bus

I couldn't find a thread but seeing that BodyShop tweet to JK Rowling has me incensed and I'm fairly new to this so please can you list any other business that has thrown women under the bus in this whole TWAW issue.

I want to support businesses that recognise that women want to and can have safe spaces, they want their identity to remain (ie they continue to use the words girl, woman in their literature).

So far, from reading posts, I can see:
BodyShop
M&S
John Lewis
Waitrose

Thanks

Clue are quite happy to lose women users in favour of inclusive language. That's essentially what their response to me was.

@ProfessorPootle

What's Aviva done for you to add them to your list?

MN have a job advert on the front page for 'em...

Silly staff on the twitter account being obnoxious to women. I have the screenshots somewhere.

My health insurance is with Aviva, they were the only affordable option for where I live. Sad The other providers in the same price bracket would have involved travelling hundreds of miles if I needed to use them.

@Lordfrontpaw I fancied a change of handwash and added it earlier. Now it's too late to remove it as my collection is tomorrow. Pity their positive environmental stance is cancelled out with their less than feminist message.

Maybe you can ask them? Although I saw a
Communication from the on twitter (no need to think it’s a photoshop job) that says that men menstruate. So I’m thinking they can just GTTFSOF. Still do a men’s range though - not only men have beards you know...

A better question might be: which companies have come out in support of women and girls? I can’t think of any! Are there any?

I use(d) to use Method products as they don't trigger my asthma. Not anymore, though. I clicked the link and saw Drag, WTAF are they thinking? Really.

Did someone mention Cheeky Wipes? I had a few items in a basket and was ready to buy. Tab closed. I'll find another manufacturer now.

I haven't bought from Lush or TBS for a while. Looks like I won't be going back there any time soon. Just as well. They were getting expensive. L'Oreal has a lot of products and brands on the market but I'm sure I can avoid for the most part.

I've never been in Wagamama nor have I ever bought anything from Primark (I'm rural). I don't come across Claire's or UA either for the same reason.

Starbucks got struck off my list with their ridiculous cookie fiasco and I don't like Coca Cola or Flora.

I don't belong to the GMB but Community is likely to lose my support before long. Unfortunately, Aviva has my pension but I'm looking into changing anyway.

Topshop = Philip Green so haven't bought for years.

Disappointed in M&S as they're pandering to people who don't seem to support them anyway. Don't they know who the majority of their customers are? Whenever I've been in one of their stores I mostly see middle-older age women. Yes, M&S, WOMEN!

Likewise Waitrose. Whenever I've shopped I see mainly women with loaded trollies and a few men with small baskets.

I'm so pissed off with these companies. They're all big enough to ignore the shouty minority and go with their shoppers - the people who actually buy their products. I keep asking but WTF is wrong with them?

Have we mentioned 'Always'?
Recalling NatWest or Lloyds but can't recall why at the moment...

Jeez I know my Asda staff. They will wear their badges with a look of pure hate on their faces cos they have been forced to wear them

You can add Etsy to the list as well, they have ‘anti terf’ products and Etsy refuse to remove them, I won’t buy from there anymore.

There is a British alternative to etsy that advertises on Instagram.

Reddit? Apparently there’s a new moderator in town (and we thought they’d gone off to campaign for Elizabeth Warren and marry some bloke in America)

Yes I'm certain they do. Sure i saw on here fpfw? I think selling badges via etsy. Etsy is just a marketplace and provides no loos or changing rooms so one can vet each and every seller if one wants to.

Asda, making workers declare their pronouns on badges.

The Mirror said that the badges would be optional.

So when your shopping on etsy or local businesses are you enquiring about their beliefs before you part with your money? How do you know that the etsy selling your buying from dosent actually donate to mermaids or that the farm shop owner isnt a strong believer that TWAW?

Isn't it wishful thinking to imagine these companies will suffer as a result of being boycotted? If anything, they'll now be even more popular with many others.

You bunch of beautiful women. I’ve been so down about all of this, feeling like it’s like trying to swim up a waterfall and then I stumbled upon this thread. I have no contributions but will be taking note of the companies mentioned. Thanks for fighting the good fight when the world seems to be going mad.

FuchsiaFox There is a difference between a person believing that TWAW and a large company sending a snide "educate yourself" tweet to a victim of domestic violence, or opening up their lingerie changing rooms to men.

Oh really? 52% of the world is made of women, the biggest estimate of trans is 1%. Tell me which has the most buying power.

@Bananabixfloof it's certainly wishful thinking to imagine that all or even most women truly support women's rights.

I'm happy to do my bit. And an awful lot more women than you think visit this section and even if they dont post, they see, they know. They choose to shop in places that make them feel safe.
