Just seen this on Twitter.

For those who like their Ginger Shampoo, can I suggest MooGoo.

Also, Aveeno is a good replacement for their Shea butter.

Other thoughts welcome. Feel free to suggest other ideas.

"We hope this helps you appreciate a different point of view."

All I can do at this point is quote the late, great Magdalen Burns.

"FUCK OFF, YOU WANKERS!"

Menstruators Angry
Dehumanising disrespectful misogyny - aimed at their core customers.
Fools.

MrsKypp · 12/06/2020 20:20

I haven't been to a Body Shop for decades. Their stuff is rubbish quality and they obviously have very unintelligent people working for them on Twitter.

Maybe Transwomen are their largest market segment?

Lordamighty · 12/06/2020 20:32

we stand with ALL menstruators. People have periods- women, men and non-binary people.

Are they for real? No man ever, had a period. I am so looking forward to seeing their men’s shaving products aimed at ejaculators but I won’t hold my breath.

JemimaShore · 12/06/2020 20:44

Body Shop has 5 Board Members - all male. They don't sell period products. Why are they obsessed with women's periods?

What does #DropThePWord even mean? Are we not meant to say 'period' anymore?

I believe the answer lies in a seminar - a year or two ago - attended by a feminist who reported back here. She said that one of the instructions was to promote causes like period poverty so as to look like they are supportive of women, and take the spotlight off the accusations of changing laws in a way that is detrimental to women. Right about this time, Lily Madigan posted a selfie with "End Period Poverty" written on their own hand. And lo and behold - that was the end of all period poverty - just like that. Not.

(Incidentally, we know periods are "bloody natural" - thank you very much, all-male board of Body Shop - we women are the ones who have them.)

Is anybody a Wikipedia contributor? This controversy should be added to the Wiki page!

We can help write it!! Grin

Lordfrontpaw · 12/06/2020 20:46

@ChickenNuggetsChipsAndBeans

I forgot to cancel my audible membership this month. It is quite tricky to do, you need to log onto your PC and remember your password and stuff.

So I used my credit to pre purchase the latest Robert Galbraith audiobook.

I handed my books back and for the money back.

Now that’s interesting (takes notes).

"Surely it can’t be pride month again? It’s like fucking groundhog month"

Yup. Pride went on all of last year didn't it? It also seems you are not allowed to be critical of any aspect of LGBT++QXYZLMNPOABCD (except GC lesbians) during this time period. It's the law or something. I've seen lots of Queer people moan that 'I cannot believe JKR did that
Especially during pride month. How dare she.' etc.

Lordfrontpaw · 12/06/2020 21:01

Near my office the flags went up all along the road in May. They were still there for freshers week. I was triggered I tells ya.

RuffleCrow · 12/06/2020 21:02

I'd be thrilled to find it's Pridehog Day once more, if it had anything at all to do with lesbian, gay, or bisexual people. I'm bisexual myself and I can state categorically that it's just not something I can relate to at all anymore.

For starters, people keep telling me it means i'm attracted to two 'genders'. Erm, well, when I started being bi, 25 years ago, it meant I fancied people of both sexes. Did my sexuality get upgraded with new software overnight or something? I don't remember clicking anything...

Lordfrontpaw · 12/06/2020 21:05

Well since IWD was wholeheartedly stolen, we ought to repay in kind. ManPrideDay. Line green bunting I think with a black tip.

3LittleMonkeyz · 12/06/2020 21:09

Today I was talking to my son about the differences between boys, men, girls and women. We discussed sex differences. Afterwards I thought to myself "is that transphobic now? Does that make me a TERF?

Thing is, my kids know men and women can both do most things. They don't think having a penis stops a man from washing dishes, or that having a vagina means you can't be a fire fighter, or any of those other cliches of the past. But they have also seen pregnancy and breastfeeding and the anatomical differences. I'm not in the habit of lying to my kids. I mean, Santa? The tooth fairy? Sure. It's a bit of magic for them. But that they can switch sexes? No. Sorry. There are a few things that are unique to being "man" and a few that are unique about being "woman"

When my son asked me about periods I told him that it was a normal part of womanhood and he would never have them because he is Male. That's a fact. A biological fact. If that makes me a TERF then I guess I must be. JK Rowling does not deserve this at all.

I don't want to be called a bleeder or a menstruator or a "pregnant person" I don't want to have to prefix my identity. I am a woman.

Piccalino3 · 12/06/2020 21:09

I literally can't believe what I'm seeing here! I have nothing to add but I don't think I will ever not be astounded by women being referred to as menstruators and people actually asserting that men having periods.

How dare they post such utter shit. Totally bizarre post. I can't even botcott them as I haven't bought anything from them since about 1995 when I had a Saturday job there.

Willow2017 · 12/06/2020 21:13

How seriously thick are they that they think people will believe that men have periods?
Just what women need, men to tell them they arent the only sex to have periods! How on earth did we not know this till now? How remiss of us, all those poor men with dysmenorrhea, bleeding through san pro, nausea, pain and all the rest and they didnt let on once? As if!

Misogynist tossers. Just fuck off telling women who and what we are.

JemimaShore · 12/06/2020 21:20

I find "menstruator" really fucking offensive.

And I have no idea why a male-governed cosmetics company thinks it has the remit to tell me, JK Rowling and other women off about this.

SirVixofVixHall · 12/06/2020 21:34

Agree Jemima.
What do they use when referring to people at large , urinators ?

SirVixofVixHall · 12/06/2020 21:44

I remember when Pride was a really joyful weekend for all my gay mates, rather than a never-ending stream of creepy men in latex puppy masks and harnesses on all fours “chatting “ to bemused children.

Enderthedragon · 12/06/2020 22:11

we stand with ALL menstruators. People have periods- women, men and non-binary people

Oh would you ever just fuck off.

I don't tend to buy from The Body Shop these days anyway because whenever I go in I'm always so shocked at how bloody expensive everything is. But I will never be setting foot in there again. Bye!

colouringindoors · 12/06/2020 22:14

just fuck off those were the first words that came to my mind too.

Sickening.

Singlewhiteguineapig · 12/06/2020 22:15

Body Shop can fuck off to the far side of fuck

StandWithYou · 12/06/2020 22:22

This is not doing my blood pressure any good. Sorry DD I’m not buying anything from there again.

StandWithYou · 12/06/2020 22:23

To add - so fucking fed up of word salad telling me to educate myself. Stop patronising me.
