I think the problem is that it implies that even if you're 'just a woman', you can still add value by being a engineer etc.
It's like the argument that saying a woman is someone with a female body is somehow reducing women to their bodies. It only makes sense if you think having a female body is something that reduces you or makes you inferior.
Women are just women, and there's nothing wrong or reductive about that.
