The power play going on isn't the supposedly subversive "power" of wearing clothes stereotypically for the opposite sex!! You're talking to a bunch of feminists here ffs! Of course most of us couldn't care less what clothes other humans choose to wear. Feminists aren't the ones trying to go backwards with strict adherence to gendered stereotypes.
The power play is that these male reviewers know they can write wank fantasies in spaces frequented by females and get away with it. They want women to read them and feel threatened.
They get away with it because they are male and we live in a patriarchy. They get their kicks from doing this to women because they are male and we live in a patriarchy. There's no comparison to be had with anything any woman has ever done.
Personally I read reviews to help me buy clothes for my female form. My body goes in and out in a way models' bodies don't tend to so I rely on reading about the fit on other women's bodies.
What proportion of customers are going to find the sexist wank fantasist's review helpful? And what proportion feel threatened, worried their clothes will have semen on them, sick, re-traumatised etc?
A helpful review of clothing designed for female bodies by a male human could go: "OK so I'm a man so these pants weren't designed for my shape but the material is a lovely quality and they washed well. The colour was much brighter than it looked on the website".
