Tweet from ShropshireReSisters at 14.47: Shropshire County Council have withdrawn the transgender tool kit. It took a little pressure and a lot of help from some wonderful people (I'd tag but they may not wish me to). Anyone else wanting to do the same in their area...do it!

WOOHOO!!!!

This is good, and useful too as now you can add ". And x, x, x, x and x have already withdrawn the toolkit"

Exactly. No one wants to be the one getting caught out and they feel there is safety in numbers.

It's a prime example of the domino effect.

I've looked for policies on my county, Buckinghamshire, but as we have just merged to form 1 unitary authority, the website is very sparse. I did check the entry policy for the girls' grammar school, and noticed it only referenced "girls". Well, except in relation to 6th form, which is co-ed with the boys' only grammars, where it clearly stated male and female. No ambiguity in their language.

Excellent news. Well done SSAUK.
Now we need to ensure that schools all know that authorities are withdrawing this as they are concerned about legitimate legal challenge. I'd hate to see an individual school taken to court for undermining safeguarding, removing parental rights without the agreement of the courts and compromising girls' rights to privacy, safety and dignity in changing rooms, showers and dormitories so it's essential that they also review their own policies and remove all the dodgy sections.

Do you think Brighton will soon be the last one standing? Or will they take onboard the legal advice that they are on dodgy ground? It would be good to get this to court and maybe they are just so ideologically blind that they might provide the opportunity.

I think they'll be the ones that will go to court. How can they not?
