Tweet from ShropshireReSisters at 14.47: Shropshire County Council have withdrawn the transgender tool kit. It took a little pressure and a lot of help from some wonderful people (I'd tag but they may not wish me to). Anyone else wanting to do the same in their area...do it!

WOOHOO!!!!

Good news @Fishdoggy Smile

The dominoes are falling

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 21/05/2020 23:43

Oh, this is like the most pleasing game of dominoes ever.

Lordfrontpaw · 21/05/2020 23:45

But I do hope that the people responsible for creating and facilitating this are brought to account. Questions must be asked.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 22/05/2020 07:42

This is excellent! But yes, once the dominos have fallen some questions need to be asked about how it got this far in the first place.

Jacobieathan · 22/05/2020 07:48

Can someone explain to this newbie what the toolkit is? Thanks.

Fishdoggy · 22/05/2020 08:02

Jacobieathan

In a nutshell:

Originated in Mordor (Brighton & Hove)

Schools being told girls have no choice but must accept boys into their toilets, changing rooms and dorms (trips away).
This is all to be kept secret from parents and guardians.

That's the mini version!

Deliriumoftheendless · 22/05/2020 08:06

Fishdoggy-
Thank you.

Jacobieathan · 22/05/2020 08:18

Thanks fishdoggy!

Oncewasblueandyellowtwo · 22/05/2020 09:40

Fishdoggy

Wow, that's fantastic.

RoyalCorgi · 22/05/2020 10:18

Excellent news from Doncaster, Fishdoggy - good work.

Also, that is the perfect summary of the toolkit(s). Saves people having to read the full thing.

Fishdoggy · 22/05/2020 13:55

Newyddion Da!

Denbighshire has withdrawn.

Thank you for your email.

Further to feedback received from yourself and the recent outcome of legal cases across the UK , we have taken the decision to withdraw the policy.

At this moment in time, the work of the authority is directed towards working on COVID19; however in due course we will carry out a review of the situation to determine the next steps in relation to this matter.

Regards/Cofion

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 22/05/2020 14:16

Another one! Brilliant!

FOIrequester · 22/05/2020 14:31

Fishdoggy

I just received the same email from Denbighshire and came on to post it here, but you got there first.

Apollo440 · 22/05/2020 14:35

We're coming for you Brighton. You can either withdraw your illegal guidance or be obstinate f@cks and allow this to be brought to court.

Fishdoggy · 22/05/2020 14:57

FOIrequester I'm so sorry!

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 22/05/2020 14:57

Hm. That will be a courtroom I would pay to see, Apollo.

SheSheHe · 22/05/2020 15:02

Let's hope all this gets the attention it deserves when COVID-19 has done its worst. Good news that they are deciding to withdraw now rather than fob us off with, 'We'll look at it when the dust settles'. The decision to withdraw now is encouraging.

MoleSmokes · 22/05/2020 15:27

Fishdoggy - "Originated in Mordor (Brighton & Hove)" Grin

FOIrequester · 22/05/2020 15:38

No need to apologise Fishdoggy. I'm just pleased to see everyone's hard work on this start to pay off.

Fishdoggy · 29/05/2020 14:40

Merthyr Tydfil is the latest Council to withdraw the flawed transtoolkit for a much needed review.

Lordfrontpaw · 29/05/2020 15:08

I hope the schools are also telling the teachers exactly why it is being withdrawn and highlighting the offending parts. AND apologise to any poor member of staff/parent who dared to object to them in the first place (and probably got a bollocking over it).

Aesopfable · 29/05/2020 15:14

Lordfrontpaw don’t be silly. They are only ‘officially’ withdrawn - they probably haven’t mentioned it to the schools who are using the guidance.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 01/06/2020 15:26

Derbyshire too now according to Safe Schools Alliance:

Lordfrontpaw · 01/06/2020 15:28

ThinEndoftheWedge · 01/06/2020 15:37

It’s difficult to keep up! Fantastic news!
