I think the article alluding to him feeling like a fall guy for the whole government is probably true, and accept that by ‘tone’ he could have meant the language of personal blame rather than the tone of delivery.

When I was divorcing I was appalling to so many people so aggressive and defensive because I was stressed and scared. I see flashes of the same in Matt Hancock. He's out of his depth with Boris promising the moon on a stick every five minutes, probably still recovering, in a shit storm partly of his own creation and when he feels like there's a glimmer of good news people still squash it. I'd be getting snippy too. Not saying I'm his biggest fan but I just sense that tension. The tone thing has been taken out of context to some degree.

There was nothing wrong with Dr Allin-Khans tone, MH is a dick who picked a misogynistic way to put her down rather than address her valid point.
He's also a coward who has ducked the gender/sex ward question. But yes he'll recognise men are male when that recognition is to men's benefit

Totally agree he's probably stressed, he's a mediocre MP who has been elevated beyond his abilities
