If you didn't know.

Just well done to everyone who noticed, who complained who did something. This is fantastic news. The law has not yet been captured.

I hope this has really positive implications for the Safe School Alliance challenge.

Excellent news, well done.

Michelleoftheresistance · 30/04/2020 19:29

Brilliant news!

And again proves, when they checked their facts, it was a case of ohhhh shit ….

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 30/04/2020 19:31

Facts are of the greatest inconvenience to this movement.

HermioneWeasley · 30/04/2020 19:33

Whoop whoop

Spero · 30/04/2020 19:44

@Aesopfable I hope that Safe School Alliance will be poised and ready for the revised guidance. Time for JR will start running when that comes out and it can be challenged again if its just as crap.

My hope is that because they have pulled it 'for a review' but aren't able to give any timescales, that this is serious. They realise it goes beyond tweaking. That this is fundamentally wrong.

Be interesting to see if Oxfordshire continue to resist the challenge to their guidelines.

And of course it raises the really alarming question about how the bloody hell was this ever even published. But its fantastic news. First of many I hope.

Marvellous!

Ruth Hunt chose such a good time to leave Stonewall, didn’t she?

R0wantrees · 30/04/2020 19:49

Great news.
Thanks to all involved Star

Important to remember that this school toolkit for key stages 3 and 4 was published by the CPS in partnership with NSPCC, Stonewall, Gendered Intelligence, NASUWT & the National Police Chiefs’ Council.

Indeed. And coupled with the speculation above...

A load of blokes in wigs in a court telling a teenage girl she must get naked in a changing room with boys or be prosecuted for hate speech would have been such a good look

It's all coming out into the open, now.

MrsSnippyPants · 30/04/2020 20:19

For those on Twitter, Baroness Nicholson is asking for evidence of Stonewall and GI etc being involved in producing 'damaging materials'.
Lots of examples already given, but please chip in if you have more.

MidCLegs · 30/04/2020 20:30

Was about to share this. This is brilliant news - but - it's only just out for review and hasn't been removed entirely. We need to keep digging. Thanks to HarryTheOwl and the SSA who have pushed this through.

MidCLegs · 30/04/2020 20:32

And thank the fuck that my DD won't have to sensor her vocabulary. She knows she can't say that people can't change sex.

OvaHere · 30/04/2020 20:34

Excellent news.

CheriLittlebottom · 30/04/2020 20:35

Brilliant news. Thanks to everyone involved.

WatchoutfortheROUS · 30/04/2020 20:36

Good news!

O frabjous day! Callooh! Callay!

truthisarevolutionaryact · 30/04/2020 20:58

For those who haven't read those Orwellian toxic guidelines, it's worth taking a look at Caroline ffiske's take down of them:

MandosHatHair · 30/04/2020 21:01

Great news, well done and thanks to everyone involved.

Michelleoftheresistance · 30/04/2020 21:05

MrsSnippyPants that's quite a reply to the baroness of carefully analysed responses to various pieces of guidances from the political lobby, all produced swiftly with reference to established organisations. I hope the Baroness reads carefully and shares what she learns.

Makes rather a contrast to a certain person's response to a call for evidence when asked to prove what they were saying on Twitter when the best they could do was screenshots, the only useful ones being the ones they'd had to forge themselves.

2fallsagain · 30/04/2020 21:13

hi everyone, thanks for updating the thread and to a certain MN's poster's DD - a massive thanks to her. You should be so proud. We literally couldn't have done this with out her.

There is a full statement from SSAUK and Fair Cop here:
safeschoolsallianceuk.net/2020/04/30/cps-guidance-withdrawn-for-review/

To answer a couple of questions: yes, they have withdrew to review and we will be keeping a close eye on what happens next. As for the Oxfordshire case, as far as we know they are not backing down. It will be interesting to see if this decision has any bearing on what they decide to do next.

This is significant news and can be used to show that any advice or guidance issued by Stonewall, GI or other lobby groups is legally questionable.

Thanks for all your support.

MrsSnippyPants · 30/04/2020 21:15

Indeen Michelle, the contrast is stark.

The baroness is really on the ball with this, and if she says she is going to do something it gets done. She has not been completely immersed in this subject, as so many of us have, so it's a good idea to really walk her though some of the stuff we already take as common knowledge.
She grasps things very quickly though and is a great ally to have.

Voice0fReason · 30/04/2020 21:16

This is excellent news, even if it is just the first step. It's moving in the right direction.

Sheerahah · 30/04/2020 21:17

Excellent news.

NeurotrashWarrior · 30/04/2020 21:39

Wow! This is amazing news! Congratulations to you all 🥳 !!! Thank for for all your hard work Wine

WTFSeriously · 30/04/2020 22:57

I can't get on Twitter to post this but can someone add the girl guides training materials for 'gender stereotypes' was co-written by gendered intelligence too? Helen Watts might be able to link to the relevant section of their website. FAO the baroness Smile
