According the 'Diva Survey' Hmm (groundbreaking research into the lives of LGBTQI women), "86% of LGBTQI women are aware of media coverage about the transphobic attitudes of a small group of lesbians". Of course this is accompanied by a quote of "trans women are women".

There are no details on how many people were interviewed or where the research took place.

Further along the Visible Lesbian 100 page there is a lovely bit of explaining that if you define lesbian as a women who is sexually attracted to other women then you are guilty of narrow and prejudiced thinking!

Honestly, I'm not a lesbian but I'm just so pissed off at this! AngryAngry

Not inclusive or murderers or muggers. Shocking.

Lordfrontpaw · 30/04/2020 15:21

I haven’t seen a squeak about this on the Tesco twitter account. Lots of complaints about food quality and shopping experiences, but not his.

Pertella · 30/04/2020 15:35

It's not an 'inclusive' environment at all when they're implying that these kind of beliefs, actions and behaviours are just a part of being LGBT

So much this. When the backlash comes it will be everyday gay and lesbians who will be targeted, not the MRAs and (mostly) straight fetishists and deviant behind it all.

GivesNoFox · 30/04/2020 18:47

The far lefty activists have turned inclusivity into an utter joke and corporations just blindly follow for the brownie points.

Inclusivity is one side of a coin the other side being (reasonable) exclusivity. Its good to be inclusive as to give everyone equal opportunity but that shouldn't mean we lump everyone under the same umbrella like some shapeless blob.

The reality is exclusive groups are out there for people who have faced similar experiences possibly brought on due to a similar characteristic they share to gather, talk, bring about awareness to their cause and push for betterment of their group in society. This is effectively done due to the exclusive nature of the group, they can collaborate with different groups too but ultimately the exclusive nature of their characteristics and struggles makes the core of the group and creates a common goal to focus on.

This super duper obsession to include everyone in one group under the current day 'inclusivity' mindset just simply creates a a atmosphere of people talking over one another and those deemed 'super oppressed' by the current days super lefty mindset will be given an unequal portion of the mic not letting others get a fair chance to air their own struggles and they will be left high and dry, which leads to resentment building and eventual fracture of the original 'inclusive' group. similar thing is happening with the current day LGBT+ movement.

Nuance in the conversation is severely lacking.

Lordfrontpaw · 30/04/2020 19:40

Inclusivity has become the modern day ‘elf and safety.

Winesalot · 01/05/2020 10:42

I received this, this morning after I asked for my letter to be referred up the line ....

'Due to the nature of his role our CEO set up our team to specifically respond for him and his Board. There is no higher point of escalation within our Business.

The response I sent to you is our final word on the matter and there will be no further correspondence from this office.'

So yes, I guess that Tesco really does hate women and will not accept that they have sponsored an award to a person who 'fits their values'.

Dyrne · 01/05/2020 11:17

It just goes to show that all this isn’t hysteria.

You can really be a terrible person, support rape, torture, child abuse and animal abuse (in fact actively advocate for it)... and all will magically be forgiven and forgotten the moment you turn around and say the magic words “I have decided to live my life as a woman”. Because becoming transgender apparently erases all other sins against you - you are now brave and stunning and worthy of awards and accolades.

Winesalot · 01/05/2020 11:20

That is the crux of the matter Dyrne. In the era of #metoo, this attitude is still so tightly ingrained.

Lordfrontpaw · 01/05/2020 11:33

I see Tesco are running the John Lewis and M&S playbook (o wonder where from of’) Lalalalala fingers in my ears NO! WOMEN - WE HAVE SPOKEN!

Fair enough - they want to pretend it didn’t happen then we will have to pretend that they don’t exist for us.

Tesco, get in the ‘dead’ folder then. Enjoy.

Michelleoftheresistance · 01/05/2020 11:50

I'm afraid rather than doing anything so definite as hating women, I suspect that Tesco senior management know nothing whatever really about inclusion, are doing precisely what they're told by the males who told them what to do in the first place (ignore the howling from the tiny females and sockpuppets type stuff) and because they know no better, think they're doing the right thing.

Instead of having anyone on their team with the basic due diligence to realise what utter twits they are so busily making themselves look, or to do a reading of a number of court cases that are about to fairly majorly expose the behaviour of several key organisations. Of which some of the males advising here are pillars of.

This is what really lazy practice leads to. Looking a complete twit in public.

Lordfrontpaw · 01/05/2020 15:18

Ans there is no one there with the balls to call 'bullshit'? Thank goodness I'm not in big business anymore.

In my day the emperor's new clothes were less dangerous to point out!

jen1wren · 06/05/2020 12:06

Perhaps a review on trustpilot?

Lesbian Visibility Week 2020
Lordfrontpaw · 06/05/2020 12:46

Hahaha! That's going to go in 3-2-1... then loads of new reviewers will pop up saying that they are now going to spend their hundredmilionry pounds shopping money in Tesco every single day because they are such wonderful allies and support their community XXXXX

Lordfrontpaw · 06/05/2020 12:47

I just had a look - they only have 2 stars anyway (amazingly) but some of the reviews are very funny.

Lordfrontpaw · 06/05/2020 12:54

I think theyve all gone...
