Yes - at a time of global crisis the DM has decided this is an important issue that women should be made aware of.

If anyone want to bother reading it www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-8159731/Not-wearing-bra-lockdown-leave-saggy-breasts-experts-warn.html

Not sure if it is response to this www.huffingtonpost.ca/entry/benefits-of-not-wearing-bra_ca_5e7bca84c5b6cb9dc1999297

OP posts:

It used to be that if we didn't wear corsets we were doomed

I (65 now) was persuaded into a 'panty girdle' at about 15.

It is one of my benefits of being older that I now just wear a 'sleep' bra, in a 'g' cup it's more comfortable and less sweaty than going totally without

Dido, it's perfectly possible to not be scruffy whilst going braless

Er, I didn't actually say that. I was referring to the posts like this.

As far as I’m concerned, the silver lining of this pandemic is the chance to spend days, or even weeks, in elastic waists and no bra

I’m loving spending time in my joggers or leggings and tunics. I don’t know how I’m going to cope with structured workwear if this keeps up

Dances · 31/03/2020 22:42

To be fair, there have been not nearly enough public tits recently and someone needed to remind the women that they cannot be allowed to LET THEMSELVES GO even when there is noone about to look at their tits.

Fear not, the tit observers shall return and there should not be any reduction in the quality of the tits so fucking take care.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 31/03/2020 22:43

I always want to sex reverse these. Men, do you realize that your balls are looking a bit saggy lately? They do sag with time, you know. Have you considered buying our special extra supportive WonderBriefs to squeeze everything in and up a bit, make it all look nice and perky?

LadyQuarantinaPluckington · 31/03/2020 22:43

How delightful that we can all find our sartorial comfort level. Yay liberty.

RedToothBrush · 31/03/2020 22:46

There is no scientific evidence that bras improve whether you are naturally saggy or not.

These 'experts' are always men or in the bra industry. Not scientists.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 31/03/2020 23:11

Fair enough Dido, I concede I skimmed. It is a thread about a DM article that warned women about the horrors that may befall them should they unleash their beasts.

ILikeyourHairyHands · 31/03/2020 23:11

Breasts, not beasts!

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 31/03/2020 23:13

Not sure the DM didn't mean beasts tbh. They always are a bit help my cognitive dissonance is giving me a migraine about women's bodies.

fridgegrazer · 31/03/2020 23:17

Too late now - mine moved south years ago.

(Actually I am wearing one now - Miss Mary of Sweden bras are the most comfortable ones I've ever had, not sexy, but serious engineering for norkage.)

LadyQuarantinaPluckington · 31/03/2020 23:18

unleash their beasts

Man who has everything is warning that men's failure to wear underdrawers may cause saggy testicles.

BinkySodPlop · 31/03/2020 23:23

I swear I burn more calories putting my sports bra on for Joe Wicks than I do during the class! But at least when it's over and I've showered, I can just tuck them in my knickers! 😉

ALittleBitofVitriol · 31/03/2020 23:53

I think I've burned more calories giggling at this thread than I ever have whilst wearing a sports bra 😄

BeetrootRocks · 01/04/2020 00:09

Just catching up

'That advice has come too late for me.
I was wearing a leather bra recently and my boyfriend thought it was a new pair of shoes.'

Sorry to break it to you, but you have misunderstood where a bra goes Grin

BeetrootRocks · 01/04/2020 00:15

Bras are for sure a sexist ageist item of clothing. Probably a separate thread.

Humans were around long before bras. Do all cultures and societies on the planet wear bras? Women's bodies work just fine without them.

I do agree that if you want to do a lot of jumping up and down its nice to have them contained.

All the rest is about mainly Western fetisisation of breasts, and an obsession with youth, for the male gaze.

LadyQuarantinaPluckington · 01/04/2020 00:22

Sorry to break it to you, but you have misunderstood where a bra goes

Reminds me of a scene in that well known feminist standard, Carry On Don't Lose Your Head where Peter Butterworth and Kenneth Williams find an item of ladies underwear and Butterworth thinks it's earmuffs, and William's scoffs and says it's clearly knee pads, so Butterworth tries to put the bra on his knees.

Cue swanee whistle.

Fenlandmountainrescue · 01/04/2020 00:26

I’ll wear a bra if I’m going to run, for practicality. However, the old pelvic floor has made the idea of running nigh on impossible.

When I have worn a bra, I’ve been distressed to see I stick out somewhat more. This is not something I want to do. If my breasts are called saggy, I want to know who’s looking and what gave them the right to comment.

BusterGonad · 01/04/2020 01:12

I wear bras because if I don't my boobs wobble and men think it's okay to stare at them, I don't wear them at home as much as they dig a little but I do feel self conscious as they are a bit saggy and due to lack of confidence I find this a bit embarrassing.

BusterGonad · 01/04/2020 01:13

And loving the leather bra/shoes joke! 😂

corlan · 01/04/2020 07:19

Sorry to break it to you, but you have misunderstood where a bra goes grin

I think you have misunderstood just how saggy my boobs are.Wink

MysticWytche · 01/04/2020 08:56

Hmmm. I stopped wearing one about 3 years ago. No change so I doubt a short lockdown will make a skerrick of difference.
I'm sure I remember reading that the opposite was true actually. No bra strengthens the chest wall and it's actually wearing a bra that makes them saggy.
Either way, I don't really care.

bd67thSaysReinstateLangCleg · 04/04/2020 17:46

Not sure what is so difficult about finding a comfortable bra.

When you get to larger cup sizes, the underwires impale your armpits because the manufacturers keep increasing the underwire size even though the width of the bra cups is now wider than the front of the wearer. Also, in the last two decades or so, the back strap fabric has got flimsier and the side elastic narrower, causing the elastic to cut in.

bd67thSaysReinstateLangCleg · 04/04/2020 18:10

Mystic You probably read www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/259073 or one of the numerous other articles covering the same study. The Daily Fail also covered this at the time. Short memories, they have.

Deathraystare · 05/04/2020 12:55

Damn you Covid19! Without you I would have remained a perky sex object forever!!

Haha! I enjoyed that (at your expense!)
