RIP Ruth Flowers

What's the betting her husband has a long history of abuse?

Socrates11 · 30/03/2020 16:31

Two sad stories of male violence. And the meat heads sticking up for the boxer bloke & his hateful video keep insisting male violence toward women is just a joke. Fuck off you wankers, women keep dying violent deaths because of it.

R0wantrees · 30/03/2020 16:52

Flowers for Ruth Williams & the un-named woman in Middlecliffe, Barnsley.

BeetrootRocks · 30/03/2020 17:23

Yes thank you I just spotted it and have commented

Al1Langdownthecleghole · 30/03/2020 17:26

Stay safe. Especially if you are with someone who is abusing e. Look online for Women's Aid and tell someone if you can.

Sad Fly free Ruth Williams Flowers thinking of all those missing her. I hope the 31 yr old will be named & remembered shortly too
HollowTalk · 30/03/2020 18:17

Whenever I read an article like this I wonder whether the woman was a Mumsnetter. Sad

BuzzingtheBee · 30/03/2020 18:20

Rip Ruth. Very sad.

madcatladyforever · 30/03/2020 18:30

And no doubt these men will get a light sentence because of self isolation stress the poor little flowers.
Things won't improve unless wife killers get an automatic death sentence no matter what the reson was.
Its by far easier to just walk away than kill somebody.

JemimaPuddleCat · 30/03/2020 18:39

RIP Ruth, and the unnamed-as-yet woman. Neither of you deserved this.

DetroitOnTheMove · 30/03/2020 18:41

Rest in peace, Sisters. I don't know what to say. The unfairness of it is overwhelmingly sad. I wish I could have helped them.

Excuses keep being made for men. It's high time it stopped. No more tolerance, no more excuses. I've had enough of it all.

OhClover · 30/03/2020 18:42

Appalling. RIP Flowers

I sadly fear these poor women won’t be the last casualties of being trapped at home with abusive partners.

DowntonCrabby · 30/03/2020 18:53

31 year old had been named as Victoria Woodall, a nurse and mum of 3 😢💜

DowntonCrabby · 30/03/2020 18:54

*Woodhall

KatySun · 30/03/2020 19:19

That is awful, so so sorry to read this, these poor women Flowers

GrinitchSpinach · 30/03/2020 21:43

Ruth and Victoria, we will never forget.

What will it take for men, the non-murdering sort, to feel this as viscerally as we do???

Danceswithwarthogs · 30/03/2020 21:58

Heartbreaking Flowers

Sammi38 · 30/03/2020 22:00

Those poor women, and their families. But I can see their husbands wriggling their way out of this. Claiming mitigating circumstances or something. Vile creatures.

Women’s lives do not matter as much as men’s. Is there actually any provision for women in this lockdown to seek help? It must be absolutely terrifying for women and children in abusive homes at the moment.

EugenesAxe · 30/03/2020 22:02

What's the betting her husband has a long history of abuse?

Just what I was thinking. This is awful and I hope it won’t happen again... but there are a lot of abused women out there and I’m scared it won’t be.

EugenesAxe · 30/03/2020 22:05

Sorry that should read ‘I’m scared it will.’

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/03/2020 22:05

Looks like there's been a family annihilation in West Sussex. Very few details but two adults, two children and their dog have been found dead. BBC News - Woodmancote murder probe: Two adults and two children found dead.

blueskys72 · 30/03/2020 22:08

There's been one in Birmingham which doesn't seem to have been in the news yet (DS's flatmate is a copper and dealt with it).

RainbowHash · 30/03/2020 22:18

The increase in domestic violence is my biggest concern during this lockdown. I'm so frequently enjoying the sense of relief as my emotionally abusive ex moved out about a year ago after I asked to separate, and I'm 'free'. The relief and sense of joy hasn't worn off yet. And I didn't have it 'that bad'. So many women up and down the uk are victims of bullying and physical harm by the ones that are supposed to love them. I wish there was something I could do. Is there anything I can do?
