'NSW Attorney General Mark Speakman says there's been a 75 per cent increase "in contact or in searches about domestic and family violence" in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic.
He says the complexity of referrals has increased and there is a much greater demand for temporary crisis accommodation.'
"My message to everyone in New South Wales is this: There is never an excuse for domestic and family violence, the cover of a coronavirus pandemic is no excuse, no excuse for domestic and family violence.
"We will ramp up services as required to support victim survivors and we will track down perpetrators to hold them to account."
