YES!

Just announced this in the office as it flashed up on my phone. Everyone cheered.

OP posts:
TalkingtoLangClegintheDark · 11/03/2020 18:48

Wow! Bloody brilliant.

Graphista · 11/03/2020 18:48

I think he was already in Rikers, so he should have gone straight back there.

Hope so

I gather he’s given an interview saying he’s “totally confused” but I don’t know what about. he seems to be claiming he's confused that he did anything illegal at all. I'm not sure if he genuinely doesn't get it (which is of course no excuse) or it's just sheer arrogance and entitlement that they DARED to even prosecute let alone convict him.

AutumnRose1 · 11/03/2020 18:49

Thanks Mockers
I don’t have an issue with the 13th.

I also don’t mind if he dies in his cell. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I hope this sets a precedent and acts as a deterrent.

Mockerswithnoknockers · 11/03/2020 18:52

Article 4 of the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights is clear: All forms of slavery and servitude are prohibited without exception.

AutumnRose1 · 11/03/2020 18:59

SummerHouse lovely username

Remember this case where the guy originally got no jail time because they thought he had a cricket career? This is what we’re up against

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-39529714

AutumnRose1 · 11/03/2020 19:00

Mockers I don’t fancy my chances of getting the UN to change that.

Mockerswithnoknockers · 11/03/2020 19:02

A prison 'hospital' is a basic sort of clinic. It does not have the facilities for complex end of life care.

Clymene · 11/03/2020 19:05

I hope he dies cold, miserable and alone. I hope the other prisoners make his life hell.

Thisismytimetoshine · 11/03/2020 19:06

Why are you talking about him as if he’s terminally ill, Mockers?

AutumnRose1 · 11/03/2020 19:09

I think Mockers is answering my earlier question about prison hospitals.
Thanks Mockers.

I for one am relieved to hear that. I wouldn’t think it right for prisoners to get all the treatment they’d get on the NHS, for example.

Mockerswithnoknockers · 11/03/2020 19:10

He isn't terminally ill yet, but he's an overweight and unhealthy 67 year old who might not make 80 when he's due for release. The response is about the people who plainly do wish he will die in his cell, which is uncivilised.

Mockerswithnoknockers · 11/03/2020 19:10

...correction, 90 when he's due for release.

Thisismytimetoshine · 11/03/2020 19:11

Uncivilised in a conversation about Wankstein doesn’t compute. Proper bleeding heart, aren’t you?

AutumnRose1 · 11/03/2020 19:13

“ Uncivilised in a conversation about Wankstein doesn’t compute”

Agree. He’ll have food, water, shelter. All good.

If someone stabs him in the yard, he’ll get medical attention. It’s enough. It’s more than he and his kind deserve though.

Goosefoot · 11/03/2020 19:14

I asked on another thread what the prisons do for these prisoners but no one knew.I also don’t know what excuse Wankstain is giving for the wheelchair?

I think I read he just had a heart surgery, so that might explain the wheelchair.

Prisons in general struggle to give adequate health care to prisoners with real health issues. They usually aren't well enough equipped, there isn't the population in a prison to have the right kind of facilities for people with more specialised needs. They aren't really set up with the kinds of facilities someone who has less mobility needs, or someone who is losing their mental faculties. American prisons are also privately run generally speaking so they are profit driven.

Mockerswithnoknockers · 11/03/2020 19:16

People are sent to prison as punishment, not for punishment.

Everyone has human rights because everyone is human.

This may be a minority view, but that's not going to stop me believing it.

definitelygc · 11/03/2020 19:19

A judge sentenced him to serve three years for Mann's rape and 20 years for the assault on Haley.

Does anyone understand how this sentence was calculated? As far as I understand the assault on Miriam Haley was that he forced oral sex on her. I'm not sure I understand the 3 years vs. 20 years thing.

Thisismytimetoshine · 11/03/2020 19:19

What punishment do you think is in store for him, exactly, besides being incarcerated? He won’t spend his time breaking rocks.

Goosefoot · 11/03/2020 19:22

I for one am relieved to hear that. I wouldn’t think it right for prisoners to get all the treatment they’d get on the NHS, for example.

Well legally prisoners are obligated to be treated the same way with regards their health care. Socialised health care doesn't differentiate. Same for prisoners of war and such. It doesn't always happen but this is pretty clear at both the national and international levels. If you recognise people as human, they get the same medical care as anyone else. (And non-humans don't go to prison.)

Mockerswithnoknockers · 11/03/2020 19:23

What punishment do you think is in store for him, exactly, besides being incarcerated?

I hope none, but others posted above clearly disagree. Please read them also re the suggestion that no one is suggesting he should die in his cell. They actually are on this thread.

AutumnCrow · 11/03/2020 19:24

Jail = punishment; deterrent; rehabilitation.

I'm surprised he's only 67. He looks a lot older. Or is he is he faking / playing on that?

Clymene · 11/03/2020 19:30

I hope he dies in prison because I hope he serves 23 years. I hope he's scared and powerless and fucking miserable. I don't hope he's murdered, nor do I support capital punishment

A man who used his immense power to terrorise and abuse women deserves no sympathy or compassion.

Notredamn · 11/03/2020 19:35

Mockers you keep referring to posts of mine but without either quoting me or addressing me directly. Your rudeness wouldn't bother me but you've got the wrong end of the stick twice in regards to what I actually said.
I happen to know a lot about 'prison hospital's and the law so you can't school me. I also didn't say no one is saying he should die in a prison cell. Not engaging with you any more as talking about me like I'm not here is rude and I don't usually waste my time on such people.

PreseaCombatir · 11/03/2020 19:41

Solo 45 was also convicted today
Today’s a good day.

AutumnRose1 · 11/03/2020 19:42

Be interesting to see what sentence gets handed out to this guy
