WTF is going on? Three have left today, two I have heard of. Emma Cuthbertson former women's office and TW, and Jordan somebody who is the one who leaked private messages between MSPs discussing GRA stuff.

I'm glad they're gone, as they are horrible individuals, but I'm a bit confused by what they think they are going to achieve by this?

Hopefully harm the SNP?

Eck's trial starts tomorrow- 14 charges involving 10 women. I hope some of it sticks. And even better would be if Sturgeon knew and did nothing about it.

DidoLamenting · 06/03/2020 20:37

Sorry starts on Monday.

youllhavehadyourtea · 06/03/2020 20:59

And even better would be if Sturgeon knew and did nothing about it.

why?

aliasundercover · 06/03/2020 21:10

Any links about this story? I can find nothing.

GCAcademic · 06/03/2020 21:13

This article appeared yesterday re. Jordan Henderson:

www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/5355127/snp-holyrood-abuse-trans-rights-activist-election/

I expect he jumped before he was pushed.

Babdoc · 06/03/2020 21:14

Because then she would be tarnished too, youllhavehadyourtea.
So far she’s allowed Scotland to go down the drain while pursuing the stupid obsession with independence, and people have let her get away with it. But a damaging scandal where she kept quiet about Eck’s alleged multiple sex attacks and attempted rape might just be the final straw to disillusion Scots voters with the ghastly SNP.
Although so far their supporters have tolerated an embezzler, a paedophile groomer and a wife beater, so perhaps a rape apologist won’t bother them either.

I did find this

www.thescottishsun.co.uk/news/5355127/snp-holyrood-abuse-trans-rights-activist-election/

story about Henderson from yesterday. He seems charming.

aliasundercover · 06/03/2020 21:18

Oops, cross post. Sorry

youllhavehadyourtea · 06/03/2020 22:02

Babdoc - I'm getting the feeling that for you this is more about dislike of the SNP, rather than supporting women's rights? Kind of disliking the gleeful hope - in Dido's post, which I was replying to - that N. Sturgeon could be discredited as a result of an assault trial.

youllhavehadyourtea · 06/03/2020 22:05

ps - I was a member of the SNP and have resigned.

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 06/03/2020 22:19

I'm fairly neutral on the SNP. I have to contest that Scotland has 'gone down the drain' - as far as I can tell we have weathered austerity far better than those elsewhere in the country.

None of the political parties have covered themselves in glory over this - not one!

DidoLamenting · 06/03/2020 22:23

I sincerely hope Salmond's trial brings about Sturgeon's downfall. As far as I'm concerned the SNP and its idiotic policy of separatism is a far greater threat than self ID.

It's not as if they are any good on women's rights anyway. The statement at an annual conference 2 or 3 years ago about bringing in the Nordic model has gone nowhere.

The unspeakable Mhairi Black didn't receive a word of censure for calling women cunts.

This Twitter feed has something to do with the current spat.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 06/03/2020 22:30

I don't see how this is a bad thing. Maybe they can form their own party and leave the rest of the SNP to focus on something other than TRA demands.

PlayYouLikeAShark · 06/03/2020 22:54

I suspect it's an over dramatic stunt that'll not have nearly the force of impact they hope for. They believe that the smear of 'transphobia' is so powerful, all will crumble under the weight of super flouncing. Hopefully this is a sign the grownups have finally started to reign in the utter nonsense that's been going on.

theflushedzebra · 06/03/2020 22:55

This is good news. A transwoman has no business taking a women's officer role, and the Jordon bloke, well, good riddance.

littlbrowndog · 06/03/2020 22:57

💪👏👏

Babdoc · 07/03/2020 08:35

Scrimpshaw, no, we certainly haven’t “weathered austerity better” - Scotland has the worst growth rate in the UK.
You are wrong - I don’t merely dislike the SNP, I loathe them with every fibre of my being! Not only for wanting to tear apart the UK - my country - to the financial ruin of Scotland, but also for their blind acceptance of the TRA agenda and their willingness to sacrifice women’s rights purely to acore more woke points than England.
Many of their elected representatives are a disgrace and some are criminals. It remains to be seen if Eck will be convicted and move from the former groupto the latter.

TARSCOUT · 07/03/2020 08:43

Absolutely everything @didolamenting said, with bells on.

zsazsajuju · 07/03/2020 08:47

@babdoc - you do seem to have some sort of grudge against the SNP - I think the idea of independence seems to “offend” some older people. No idea why. Obviously elected SNP representatives are not criminals and your desperate wish to smear Nicola Sturgeon is pretty sad.

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 07/03/2020 08:59

Funny how he can tell the difference between men and women when he’s using sexist insults or threatening to punch a woman in the “cunt”.

MasakaBuzz · 07/03/2020 09:02

I don’t have any problem with Scottish Independence. If that’s what the Scots want then go for it. What I have a problem with is the fact I don’t think either Sturgeon or Salmond were/are doing it for the benefit of the Scottish people. I think they are/were driving it out of a deep hatred of the English and to get their names in the History books.

I love Scotland and the Scottish people. At the time of the independence referendum I was so bothered by the prospect of independence I stayed up all night watching the results come in.

If there is another Referendum, I shan’t bother. It will be a case of “on your own head be it”.

It’s another case like Brexit, where the delivered answer is not what a certain group wanted, so they are pushing for another crack at it, in the hope of getting a different answer.

I have never forgiven Salmon for waving that bloody Saltire at Wimbledon in 2013. The focus should have been on what Andy Murray had just achieved. It was not the time or place for political point scoring,

ScrimpshawTheSecond · 07/03/2020 09:05

No need to sugarcoat it, Babdoc, you can tell us how you really feel. Grin
