Workplace cake sale to raise money for Mermaids

To celebrate International Women's Day Hmm a charity bake sale is being held at my workplace to raise money for Mermaids UK, "to show our support for the transgender community".

Has anybody come across a similar situation in the workplace, and if so, did you raise any concerns? I'm cowardly about speaking out, but I feel I should say something! How to do this delicately/ sensitively?.I don't want to rock the boat though, as it's work! And ultra-woke...

and they also referenced mermaids being a "worthy cause".

Worthy how?

(Claire Graham's blog post, I won't copy the links here)

"Here’s Susie promoting surgery for increasingly younger children.

Here’s Susie pushing for cross sex hormones for children as young as 13. Interesting to note that this goes way beyond the use of puberty blockers which are also discussed positively in the presentation using a study which is now under investigation.

Here’s Susie, ignoring best practice in the NHS (and most medical orgs) and claiming that “affirmation only” is the only acceptable treatment.

Here’s Susie acknowledging that the treatment pathways she promotes cause infertility but downplaying the impact this can have on mental health.

Here’s Susie laughing at the devastating impact medical interventions had on her child’s genitalia. If this is the level of compassion she has for her own child, why is she advocating for anyone else’s?

Here’s Mermaids telling us that same sex attracted people are trans. Can you spell gay erasure and conversion therapy?

Here’s Mermaids, at their best, being complicit in the abuse and neglect of a child, by forcing them to ID as trans. In case we’re not happy with The Metro as a source, here’s the actual court report.

Here’s the regressive gender spectrum Mermaids uses, to tell children that if you don’t like Barbie, you’re not a girl, and if you don’t like GI Joe, you’re not a boy."

Thanks @Fairenuff and @ThePurported , very interesting reading there!!

@Juststopswimming, @Pizzaformylunch and @WokeyMcWokeface I gave the cake sale a wide berth. Did breeze past at one point and it was dead. Don't think everything went in the end, and yes, I noticed there was a lack of publicising of the charity. The first email mentioned Mermaids and subsequent message alluded to "a transgender charity". Maybe something has got through...
