Looks like there'll be more in The Times this weekend!

Weekend Essay: A landmark legal review will examine claims that confused young people are being subjected to a giant medical experiment, says Janice Turner

(Sorry, I still can't get that free link to work.)

If it's the ' weekend essay' I'd guess we can't get the sharetoken link until the full Saturday edition is out.

Brilliant, there is a similar situation blowing up in the USA right now. Basketball player Dwayne Wade has just announced that his 12 year old son Zion now wishes to be known as a "female" called Zaya and wear female clothes. Predictably anyone who is questioning Dwayne publicising this and the wisdom of unquestionably allowing a 12 year old to transition is being called Transphobic. Hardly anyone is talking about the long term effects of medication, it must just be accepted.

Thank you for the share token, Languishingfemale.

Thank you for the share token. That’s an excellent article.

HandsOffMyRights · 21/02/2020 19:28

Thanks for the share and thanks to Janice and The Times.

It's just so wrong isn't it, experimenting on children. Yet here we are having to debate the unthinkable. The barbaric.

This is a huge child abuse scandal, yet one of its main proponents, who put her own so through this, is chewing the fat on Twitter over telephone canvassing.

Shame on her and all the other abusers.

Her own son

Wow. That's by far the strongest and most direct thing I've yet seen in the mainstream press on the whole area. She isn't beating around the bush

rogdmum · 21/02/2020 19:41

It’s great! She’s got a bit of everything in it! Grin

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/02/2020 19:59

Wow! That's a great article - it's all so clearly laid out. There is going to be a lot of court cases in the next few years from people who were damaged as children by this.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 21/02/2020 20:09

Janice isn't pulling the punches there. Great work!

OvaHere · 21/02/2020 20:09

Great article.

NotBadConsidering · 21/02/2020 20:15

Waves to Janice 👋. Thanks.

BadgertheBodger · 21/02/2020 20:19

Oh that’s a brilliant article, brava Janice. I am in awe of the clarity she brings when she writes about this, along with her bravery in speaking out in the first place. Total shero, one of many in the GC ranks

HumphreyCobblers · 21/02/2020 20:21

Another amazing article. Thank you Janice

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 21/02/2020 20:23

Although, I have to to say I do feel a bit sorry for parents of trans children who have gone down the medical pathway. I can't imagine how they must feel with all of this coming out.

Dozer · 21/02/2020 20:26

Shocking and frightening stuff.

Smallblanket · 21/02/2020 20:36

Janice - I would definitely marry you! What a star!

HumphreyCobblers · 21/02/2020 20:37

I feel totally appalled for those poor children.

Binterested · 21/02/2020 20:44

Fab stuff again from Janice. I sent her a card at Christmas to thank her for standing up on this. Also thanked Simon Fanshawe via LinkedIn. I wanted them both to know that their courage and honesty has been a beam of light in dark times.

teawamutu · 21/02/2020 21:01

Amazing article. I've yet to regret switching from the Guardian to the Times for a single second. She got everything - although the inevitable pushback on the '100% of kids on blockers go on to cross sex hormones' angle is that maybe the clinicians give the right kids the blockers.

I'm sure the answer is in the 'paucity of research' side of things.

Oblomov20 · 21/02/2020 21:12

Of course they shouldn't be. Sensible article.

transdimensional · 21/02/2020 21:15

There should surely be a moratorium on the prescription of these blockers to children until a full review has been carried out.

Gibbonsgibbonsgibbons · 21/02/2020 21:31

Brilliant article
