Targeted reporting of LGB social media accounts

These people have no shame.
Maybe we should start reporting accounts that only advocate for other issues? Dogs Trust because they don't help cats? Age concern because they don't care about children?

It’s foul, not fowl, although I guess it goes with the earlier ‘chicken’ retort Hmm

InfiniteSheldon · 19/02/2020 17:36

Gaslighting, lying, producing fake evidence and patronising attempts to shut down women discussing LGB issues no change there

donquixotedelamancha · 19/02/2020 17:37

Your arms must be tired from reaching.

There is no need to be childish. I'm simply asking factual questions based on your claim that these accounts are false.

Given the Tory one was not created at the same time, OP knows them and the emails are not the same, presumably we can assume the veracity of that one.

Do you have any evidence that the others were set up at the same time?

unwashedanddazed · 19/02/2020 17:40

Sorry should have pointed out that Labour_trans are the Twitter group that produced the pledges that have done so much to enhance relationships in the Labour party.

not2daysanta · 19/02/2020 17:40

FloralBunting you're conflating me not supporting imposter-accounts claiming party affiliation with... homophobia. Quite a stretch.

I'm gay. In the sense that I'm attracted to people of the same-sex, rather than it being a political statement.

AnyOldSpartabix · 19/02/2020 17:43

fowl language.

I did see the word chicken, Datun! Projection perhaps?

🐣

not2daysanta · 19/02/2020 17:43

unwashedanddazed they claimed party affiliation.

InfiniteSheldon

What is fake evidence? Either it's evidence or it's not, surely?

MrsSnippyPants · 19/02/2020 17:51

They did not claim party affiliation. Again, evidence?

And you still haven't addressed your lie not2day, just resorted to calling me names.
Gosh, women disagreeing with you and asking for evidence of your assertions are 'hostile' are we?

We see you.

Oh, right, so you're completely fine with LGB people organizing for their own interests, don't think they must be shackled to the T at all costs? My mistake. You appear to just be ticked off, pedant style, about what these Twitter accounts chose as their name.

So, not you're not homophobic, you're just keen to strain at gnats and swallow camels?

unwashedanddazed · 19/02/2020 18:56

I don't see on that linked tweet from the Labourtrans group press officer any evidence that affiliation was claimed. They've used party logos just as Labourtrans has.

If you search Twitter for lgbt Labour you'll find dozens of accounts very few of which say they are affiliated. Let's hope Labour_trans is going to hunt down and report all these other imposters too.

Jesus Christ the authoritarian, entitled attitude of this bunch of self-appointed monitors is fucking shocking.

donquixotedelamancha · 19/02/2020 19:14

they claimed party affiliation

That's the same link as before. It shows those accounts claiming to be for members and supporters of those parties- explicitly not official party accounts.

If they all had the same email (but the hacking attempts show they are all different) or they were all set up on the same day (which we've established they aren't) then that might reasonably be evidence to question the assertion that they are run by party members. If you'd looked carefully at your own screenshots you might have been less free with such allegations.

This thread was about the targetted reporting of LGB accounts. A new (to MN) poster then immediately pops up denouncing those LGB accounts, with no evidence, ignoring questions about their veracity, calling posters names and changing their story. It's not unreaonsonable to conclude that person is mendacious.

That said, I'm not a fan of claiming prejudice without evidence. We should be open to the posibility that @not2daysanta is motivated by something other than Homophobia. Misogyny for example.

theflushedzebra · 19/02/2020 19:41

So the T are allowed their own twitter accounts, and a nonsense Pledges all of their own, but the LGB are not allowed a twitter account of their own. Righto. Sounds fair. Not homophobic at all. Hmm

BritneyPeedOnALadybug · 19/02/2020 20:43

zebra The T are allowed everything and anything else is allowed to who the T approves. Did you not get the pledge memo?

theflushedzebra · 19/02/2020 20:51

Britney, yes it's all so clear now.

Cwenthryth · 19/02/2020 21:05

I’m most perturbed that this popped up on my feed - a Labour CLP LGBT officer openly crowing about ‘getting LGB Labour suspended’. Absolutely disgusting behaviour.

Honestly the grown ups need to get in there and sort it out.

@Cwenthryth These are the types of people that will go through someone’s timeline, dig up tweets from years ago and then shame and hound that person into apologising or until their career is ruined, whilst not having the insight to realise that every tweet they post themselves can be screenshotted and used against them in the future.

womanaf · 19/02/2020 21:45

That aspiring MP has their star sign in their bio next to their pronouns (and MPly ambitions). 😂

Please goddess, do not let these people run the country. 🙏

But yes. T allowed their own groups. LGBs and Women, not so much. Under Twitter’s Eye.

littlbrowndog · 19/02/2020 21:51

Yeah twitter . Are twitter political

Does twitter hate women

Does twitter allow peadophiles to have conversations on twitter

Are Facebook twitter and WhatsApp ruling the world. And social engineering ?

theflushedzebra · 19/02/2020 21:57

Laurence C can call themselves non binary all they like - all I see is an aggressive male.

womanaf · 19/02/2020 22:07

But they’re Taurean. It’s not their fault. It’s written in the stars.

Needmoresleep · 19/02/2020 22:13

And your new word for today is: Alektorophobia

Which means fear of chickens. Fowl stuff.

Other than that it’s very odd to be reporting twitter accounts, before they have had a chance, if they were so minded, to tweet anything offensive. As if same sex attracted people have no right to organise themselves. In different times this would surely be considered blatant homophobia.

Cwenthryth · 19/02/2020 22:16

Actually, they’re Tauren(sic).

Away with your misastrology.

Needmoresleep · 19/02/2020 22:21

“Tauren are huge nomadic creatures who live on the grassy, open plains of Mulgore in central Kalimdor. Tauren are large, muscular humanoids and bovine in appearance, complete with hooves and horns. Tauren stand anywhere from nine to twelve feet tall and weigh anywhere from 650 to 1000 lbs.“

From t’internet. I wonder if Tauren fall under the Stonewall trans umbrella.

All a long way from Tooting.
