Owen - extreme transgender ideology and homophobia are the same thing. Iran makes gay men transition, in order to become "straight women" - or they get throw off the top of buildings. Some homophobic parents take their gay teenagers to the Tavistock to transition them into straight teenagers, as reported by the Tavi whistleblowers.

Time to take your own blinkers off, Owen - because you're being deliberately blind to the damage extreme transactivism is doing to women, lesbians and gay young people.

I have never heard anyone use the phrase "blood sacrifice" in the trans debate. Never.

Phrases like "powerful lobby" and "culutural Marxism" are used by lots of people to describe lots of different things.

And the tweet makes no sense. "Transphobia is frequently anti-semitism." Not is like anti-Semitism, but is anti-Semitism. How does that work, exactly?

Well they've abjectly failed to make the funded-by-the-far-right charge stick so this is probably the new line of attack. I expect we'll see it on here too.

I did see something about this on Jewish Twitter - there are indeed nutters on the far right who attack Jews as being behind everything they dislike on the far left, including trans rights. It's part of the same far right movement that shoots Jews in synagogues because they think we are plotting to fill the western world with Muslims (no, me neither). And that believes all Jews are behind gay 'propaganda' to undermine western civilisation.

The irony that Owen Jones, that great friend of anti-Semites everywhere, is now pretending to give a shit about Jews when it's convenient for him, is overwhelming.

There is a moral there, that those on the far right who oppose trans rights are not automatically on our side as GC feminists, and we should be careful who we ally with. Ultimately, allying with people who query the overreach of trans rights but also hate Jews/black people/LGB people is not actually in our own interests and lays us open to being called out for the sins of others.

If transphobia was like anti semitism then Labour would be blind to it.

And I'm not suggesting that most GC feminists do ally with these people, obviously - just warning against siren voices that would suggest that we have anything in common.

Needless to say, the far right are not big on women's rights...

I swear, Owen Jones is more of a liability than a help to the Left.

I suggest the word 'transphobia' is a dogwhistle for the left. Blow on it, and they lose all reason. It's quite breathtaking.

Parody account. It has to be.

I find the parallels between transphobia and anti-Semitism pretty atrocious as a Jew - it's deeply minimising of the realities of anti-Semitism and the Holocaust to suggest that transphobia is equivalent.

Point out to me when 6 million transpeople were brutally murdered within living memory, and you might have a point.

Until then, stop trying to piggyback off other people's tragedy. It's another example of the deliberate methodology of hijacking legitimate support for other people's rights that led to the adding of the T to the LGB.

The conflation is not accidental - it's cynical and deliberate. And not done by people who give a shit about Jews or LGB rights.
