MrsSnippyPants · 14/02/2020 08:58

I shall be glued to social media this morning and thought it might be useful to have a place where we can post updates as they come in so people need to follow just one thread.
Please post Twitter handles of anyone providing live updates as you find them.
@WeAreFairCop are saying it is likely the judgement will NOT be read out so they hope to get a copy and summarise and tweet after 10.30am

“ The cases are different yes but the ‘offence’ is the same topic.”

I’ll be interested to see what the judgement says.

Targeted harassment of an individual and tweeting an opinion are very different things.

I am GC but as soon as I saw the Kate case, I thought, creating separate accounts to continue targeting someone...dodgy.

CaptainKirksSpikeyGhost · 14/02/2020 10:22

The thing is it wo t be like this forever, but it will be our kids kids who fight back not us.

Fairenuff · 14/02/2020 10:22

I hope the police are ready for all the report of criminal acts when people cause annoyance or anxiety now.

DannyDonut · 14/02/2020 10:23

This is just awful

MsMcWibble · 14/02/2020 10:23

I would think that Caroline Farrow has a very good case now.

SisyphusLangClegRocks · 14/02/2020 10:24

So sorry to hear this Kate. Christ - I'm torn between terror and anger. If this doesn't frighten people I don't know what will.

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 14/02/2020 10:24

I honestly can't say I'm surprised about Kate unfortunately. When you focus on an individual rather than the issue then you open yourself up. It is patently clear how SH operates. And combine that with a CPS who were rooting around for a good case and here we are.

WeBuiltCisCityOnSexistRoles · 14/02/2020 10:24

Fucking hell. I think I might actually shed a tear of frustration and anger for Kate.

Sexnotgender · 14/02/2020 10:24

The judge in Kate’s trial considered waiting for the fair cop judgement. Why?

MsMcWibble · 14/02/2020 10:24

Any one know what happens to Kate now?

Barracker · 14/02/2020 10:25

Jesus Christ.

OvaHere · 14/02/2020 10:25

I would think that Caroline Farrow has a very good case now.

I don't. She's an actual woman.

Sexnotgender · 14/02/2020 10:25

I would think that Caroline Farrow has a very good case now.

I’d say so, except she’s a woman and the law isn’t on our side clearly.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 14/02/2020 10:25

Oh no Thanks

pp12 · 14/02/2020 10:25

The judge has retired to consider a sentence

They'll love it, no need to don the body armour and go do something about knife crime. They can spend their days policing twitter.

AlunWynsKnee · 14/02/2020 10:26

Can this be appealed?

Sexnotgender · 14/02/2020 10:26

whatsthecomingoverthehill · 14/02/2020 10:26

I would think that Caroline Farrow has a very good case now.

You would think so wouldn't you. The "crime" in her case seems far more obvious. But it relies on a justice system that follows the law dispassionately, which I don't think is the case.

LouHotel · 14/02/2020 10:26

@AutumnRose1 I agree with you. It doesn’t change my opinion that she was treated appallingly by the police and that Hayden is a worrying character but creating a second account to continue to contact someone in any situation would be considered harassment and actually ignoring that could set precedent in DV cases for example.

GenderfreeLang · 14/02/2020 10:27

sexnotgender good question, "why"

Is that its one each way to fence sit or that Faircop verdict will further enforce this verdict?

MrsSnippyPants · 14/02/2020 10:27

Conditional discharge

Sorry to hear this.
Hopefully Caroline Farrow can get the police to help her now.
