TRAs protest anti rape culture event.

Today in Manchester there was a flashmob involving Trafford Rape Crisis performing that amazing Chilean "The rapist is you" chant. twitter.com/TraffordRC/status/1226210010683801600?s=19

Here in case you haven't seen it it is amazingly powerful (not the Manchester one)

It was protested by TRAs waving trans flags organised by Manchester Sisters Uncut who ironically describe themselves as feminists taking direct action for domestic violence services.

I mean WTF were they thinking?

I think what it does tend to show is that Twitter does not equal the real world.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine - I think the tweet from Sisters Uncut Manchester is part of spreading the false notion that trans women are going round everyday trembling and afraid that a terf is around the corner. Due to this hypersensitivity being made aware that terfs will be out in force, in the main square, singing and dancing, will be a total assault on their well being. Their terf radar will be overloaded by the threatening presence of women joining together to protest on behalf of women's rights.

TheBewildernessisWeetabix · 10/02/2020 02:42

It has been a while since I have seen one of the Sisters Uncut performances but they are usually so far up their own arse that no one knows WTF they are on about.

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 13/02/2020 02:42

So, it takes me time to process events and also to have the space to think outside of the cunty woman's duties.

I was in Manchester last Saturday with a group of women doing a flash mob to draw attention to the international and institutional complicity with regard to the sexual abuse and rape of females by males

We were demonstrated against by a group of people who regarded our event as transphobic. They put posts on SM warning people that our presence in Manchester might them feel unsafe and advised them of 'safe' spaces to go to.

Can anyone please tell me how our action could possibly be transphobic or make anyone feel unsafe?

Soubriquet · 13/02/2020 02:51

I think everyone is baffled as to why they were protested against

I mean I get NAMALT (blah blah blah) but how on earth is it transphobic?

And what the fuck is transmisogny?!!

WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe · 13/02/2020 02:55

I think transmisogyny is what certain men experience when women refuse to comply with both their hatred of women plus the same women refusing to accept that TWAW.

TirisfalPumpkin · 13/02/2020 08:25

If they’re unconcerned with the ethics of running a pro-rape counter-protest, you’d think they’d give some thought to the optics, but apparently not.

I think the magical thinking is their biggest weakness. They think by going ‘well done comrades, let’s do post-action self care now’ they transmute what they just did into something positive and praiseworthy.

YetAnotherSpartacus · 13/02/2020 08:52

Showing their true colours.

Used to work with one of these.

His vile little face would twist in anger anytime anyone mentioned anything to do witj women's rights.

Lordfrontpaw · 13/02/2020 08:59

I saw a version of this - possible the original? - in South America (it was in twitter and no sound).

I was amazed to see no men protesting against it... bloody hell what type of society have we become where people protest anti-violence events.

ScrimshawTheSecond · 13/02/2020 09:48

I've never understood the name. The only place I'd ever heard 'uncut' before was in relation to penises being uncircumcised. At least back in the day, that was the terminology, used to be used on dating profiles etc.

Lordfrontpaw · 13/02/2020 10:43

Back on the day it was against - well funding cuts. Now it’s something else.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 13/02/2020 10:54

Now it's an anti-feminist group run by raging misogynists. Even your garden variety sexist pig would have better sense than to protest an anti rape demo. I don't think UKIP would do it, even.

They're the Westboro Baptist of the British left, basically.

Lordfrontpaw · 13/02/2020 11:36

They look like a bunch of silly wee boys and girls without a thought in their heads.

Call me suspicious and cynical... but who is really running it? They don't look as if they capable of organising a piss up in a brewery.

Lordfrontpaw · 13/02/2020 11:36

(West'bro sisters perhaps)

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 13/02/2020 11:37

They say they were founded and are led by transwomen. Whether that's true or not, who knows, given the TRA penchant for rewriting history.

Lordfrontpaw · 13/02/2020 11:40

Not originally though.

TheProdigalKittensReturn · 13/02/2020 11:43

From what I recall it's bollocks, but again, if history is inconveniencing one by not saying what one would like it to then one simply rewrites it.

Lordfrontpaw · 13/02/2020 11:45

That's how it is though isn't it? Inconvenient history - then just change it and sue anyone who remembers.

Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia

BreakWindandFire · 13/02/2020 23:35

Used to work with one of these.

Was this the pouty manchild wearing his granny's trans tea cosy, or the man in the facemask?
